The Dolphins made an aggressive and peculiar move yesterday. They dealt an undisclosed amount of draft picks for Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell. This is the ultimate boom or bust deal. It depends on two things a. what Miami actually gave up and B. the players themselves. Both these players have large question marks but are capable of playing at a high level. If Alonso is healthy, this is the ultimate pickup for the dolphins. He can play inside or outside backer, is a freak athlete and plays the run just as well as the pass. However, his health is a large question mark after a number of injuries in recent years. As for Maxwell, he is purely a system corner. He is a physical, press coverage corner who needs a predominately man system to excel. If the dolphins are willing to adopt this type of defence, he should excel. An interesting move that could put this team over the top or spell doom for all involved.
