The Wake impass

This is tricky. When healthy Cam Wake is an animal, he is also really fuckin old for a dlineman (34). So it comes as no surprise that the dolphins want him to take a paycut off of the 9 million cap hit he would have this year. Unfortunately for both sides there is a significant impass. Without knowing anything about negotiations, I am going to say they need to give him more guaranteed money upfront. They should also consider making his contract two years and create an incentive-based system where a great season will get him paid. If your the phins, you need this guy back but only at the right price. The tagging of Olivier Vernon and the emergence of Derek Shelby give them some flexibility here

The man, the myth, the legend. A fixture of professional sports for the last 20 years. Tom Brady seemed destine to ride off into the sunset on a half functional body and a relatively intact brain, donning a Patriots jersey. It seems that the ancient quarterback and his morally inept team had something else in mind. Brady met with Belicheck and thats that, no progress, no give and take. The XFL rule that the NFL must adopt

The XFL has burst onto the scene. By burst I mean the league has yet to fold. In all seriousness, as a football fan I am just happy there is semi-coherent football being played. Sure quarterback play isn't up to snuff (with the exception of a couple guys) but the XFL is doing something very cool. Other leagues have failed because they try and emulate or compete with the NFL. The XFL had basically filled a need (spring football) and provided enough wild concepts to keep your average fan somewhat interested. Honestly thats all football loving degenerates like myself need. The NFL would be wise to check their immense egos and improve their game through a key rule change.  The adoption of the XFL's revolutionary kickoff structure is a must for the league.
