Franchise Taggin

The skins franchised Kirk Cousins today. This is either the smartest or dumbest move they could have made. If the negotiations have been in good faith and the time ran out, this could be good. Both sides have time to hash some things out and go back to the drawing board for next year. If talks were not going well, then the skins might have an issue on their hands. Many players who get franchise tagged hate it because of the injury clause. This often results in holdouts and significant friction that almost always ends in a messy divorce. This is one thing if you are a receiver or lineman but when its a qb things could get really complicated. A qb holdout can throw off the entire team in more ways then one. I'm not saying Kirk is going to hold out or doesn't like the franchise tag, it is just strange that the team needed to resort to this. This kind of thing doesn't happen with qbs. All eyes will be on Cousins when OTA's begin
