Wildcard Preview: Chiefs and Texans

This is going to be a classic nfl game. Not classic like a game we will look back on but a game that has a shocking resemblance to the nfl of the 1960's. Both teams rely heavily on their running games and defence. The difference is the chiefs have more overall talent. The defences are a push, both are capable of single handily keeping the respective teams in the game. The offences are a different story. Brian Hoyer has flown under the radar but after the release of ryan mallett he did exactly would he was supposed to do: take care of the ball and force feed deandre hopkins. The problem is alex smith is better at taking care of the ball and managing a game. In fact, he has found more success pushing the ball down the field this year. That combined with Maclin, Kelce and the combination of West and Ware will prove to be the difference. The Texans do not have enough weapons and brian hoyer has no playoff experience. This will prove too much for the Texans to overcome. I predict a close game where one or two big plays will make the difference.


KC: 20  Houston: 13, Hopkins and Kelce both score.

Teddy Bridgewater: The Panthers decided to turn the page on Cam Newton after another injury- plagued season. The bizarrely haired, hieroglyphic writing QB was due for a change of scenery. The man, the myth, the legend. A fixture of professional sports for the last 20 years. Tom Brady seemed destine to ride off into the sunset on a half functional body and a relatively intact brain, donning a Patriots jersey. It seems that the ancient quarterback and his morally inept team had something else in mind. Brady met with Belicheck and thats that, no progress, no give and take. It seemed like a rather Belicheckian end to a 20 year long domination tour. The coach, of course, is known as an analytical decision maker who rather cut a player too early than too late. The XFL rule that the NFL must adopt

The XFL has burst onto the scene. By burst I mean the league has yet to fold. In all seriousness, as a football fan I am just happy there is semi-coherent football being played. Sure quarterback play isn't up to snuff (with the exception of a couple guys) but the XFL is doing something very cool. Other leagues have failed because they try and emulate or compete with the NFL. The XFL had basically filled a need (spring football) and provided enough wild concepts to keep your average fan somewhat interested. Honestly thats all football loving degenerates like myself need. The NFL would be wise to check their immense egos and improve their game through a key rule change.  The adoption of the XFL's revolutionary kickoff structure is a must for the league.
