NFC Championship Game Preview
Its almost here and I am fucking pumped. I have to say (as a cards fan), I was not sure we were gonna make it this far. Such a surreal experience. That being said this going to be one hell of a game. Concerning Carolina, their run game must be on point. I mean it usually is but this secondary will take away the pass. With nor real threats outside for Carolina (Ted Ginn drops too many balls) the Cards will focus their energy on eliminating Greg Olsen. They usually struggle against tight ends but I believe they will get creative in their quest to stop one of the best players no one ever talks about. I fully expect the Panthers to do what they do, run the ball with Cam and Stewart and control the clock. They will want to dominate the time of possession to keep the Cards potent offence on the bench as much as possible. On the other side of the ball, the Cards have to figure out how to get David Johnson (and maybe Ellington) going. They really struggled with the run recently, that cant happened against this defence. The second they get one dimensional, the game is over. This defence is too good.
X-Factors: For the Panthers it has to be Teddy Ginn. If he can show up and make some plays outside it will open up the entire field for the Panther big three (Cam, Olsen and Stewart). If that happens the Panthers become essentially unstoppable. For the Cards it is a combination of Floyd and John Brown. Fitz will have his hands full with Norman and one of the few weaknesses on the Panther defence is their depth at corner. This means the Cards need to take advantage of favourable matchups against Cortland Finnegan and Robert Mcclain.
Prediction: I'm not going to lie, this game is way to close to predict the final score. Since I'm not Chris Berman, I will just lay it on you. I honestly believe the Cards win on a last second field goal. Call me a homer and you know I probably am but I will tell you one thing this will be a close game regardless.
