divisional round predication: Patriots-Chiefs

This game is a tough one, lots of injuries coming in. I'm going to write this blog on the assumption that Gronk, Edleman, Hightower and Jones play for the Pats and Maclin and Hali play for the Chiefs. As much as I hate the Pats and goddamn do I hate Pats, they have proven that when healthy they are still one of the best teams in the league. From what I have heard all of those players above are going to play which means their offence should be running smoothly once again. On the Chiefs side they have a tough task going up against this pats front seven. The speed of their linebackers and safeties will put a lot of pressure on Andy Reid to open up the offence and take more shots down the field. This means that someone else needs to step up other the n Travis Kelce. It could be tough for Maclin because of the high ankle sprain. This leads me to the Chiefs X-Factor of the game: Chris Conely. The rookie has all of the tools and showed us a little sneak peek when he caught a TD last week. His combination of size, speed and athleticism could give any defence fits. If he emerges, he could be the downfield target the chiefs need to open things up for Kelce, the backs and Smith (who would love to throw screens to kelce and Wilson until the cows come home). On the Pats side it comes down to two things, Edleman and the offensive line. If Edleman is back to one hundred percent that the Pats offence immediately gets a huge boost. The Pats oline versus the potent Chiefs pass rush could be the single most important matchup in this game. The winner could decide the game, especially with a battered tom brady. In the end I expect maybe a closer contest then some pats fans (mostly because they are cocky assholes). The chiefs just dont have enough fire power to compete. Both defences will play well but the pats will prove too much in the end.
