Chargers to stay in san diego

Savvy move by the chargers brass. They signed a deal to move to L.A. with the rams but they have an option to stay in san diego. Regardless, they will be back for 2016. This is business savvy at its finest, you hold san diego to a new stadium or you jump ship to L.A. for greener pastors. Gotta love dean spanos, just a dirty snake. He always tries to lowball his players (just ask L.T. and Weddle) but goddamn if he doesnt have the businessman thing down. I applaud you.....scumbag

Baby Gronk gets what he deserves

For those of you that dont know, Travis Kelce is an animal. This guy has more YAC then Gronk over the last two years: just let that sink in. This guy is a monster. He runs good routes, has great hands and is a hell of an athlete. Sure he doesnt block like gronk but who the fuck does? He is an invaluable piece for the chiefs (anyone who watched the wild card knows that). He is alex's smith go to guy and they had no choice but to lock his ass up. 5 years and 42 million for a guy that going to continue to get better, sounds like a hell of a deal to me.

Lane gets paid

Lane Johson recieved a well deserved contract today making him the highest paid right tackle in the league. Before you get up in arms about a right tackle making left tackle money, consider this: he played a bunch of games at left tackle and was a plus starter. WIth Jason Peters age (34) and steady decline, this move makes a lot of sense. They are paying for a right tackle now and then a left tackle for the next 5 years. Smart move by philly, this guy excells as both a pass and run blocker and holy fuck is he a freak of nature. The big question for eagles fans: is Fletcher Cox next?

Is Captian Kirk the answer?

When I say captain Kirk, I am referring to Kirk Cousins. Maybe you've heard of him. The white guy who backed up RG3. The dude who lead a relatively listless redskin team to the playoffs, yeah that guy. This guy deserves some love in the most contractual way possible. Apparently, not everyone feels this way. Some dumbass at bleacher report doesn't think so. Look everyone is entitled to an opinion but when said opinion goes against fact....you have yourself a dumbass. This guy was talking about about advanced accuracy, what the fuck does that even mean? He says that Kirk benefits from short passes. So do peyton manning, tom brady and drew brees. He also claims that Cousins benefitted from dropped interceptions (again which qb doesnt). Then there was my personal favorite, strength of schedule. Let me tell you something about strength of schedule folks, no one on the team can control it. All you can do is win as many games as possible. The bottom line is that Cousins has proven him...

Pro bowl continues to be a joke

a record number of players are pulling out of the pro bowl this year. It could be coincidence or it could be the stupid fuckin timing of the event. Putting it between the championship games and the Super Bowl was always a bad idea. First of all you lose a number of guys playing in the Super Bowl. Secondly, you have guys coming off tough conference loses who have no interest in the game itself. Finally, the allure is gone. The pro bowl has always been a fun ending to the season where players can cut loose after a long grind. That's why this should come as no shock to the NFL. Make it about the players cutting loose and the game will get its appeal back. Also bring back those skill contests from the early 2000's, those were the shit.

Bills GM is a certified dummy

If you are a bills fan you have struggled through years of mediocrity at the qb position. The Bills appeared to find the answer last year in Tyrod Taylor. He is a smart, mobile qb who throws a hell of a deep ball and best of all he doesnt turn the ball over. Sure he suffered an injury that kept him out a few games but that is beside the point. This is a guy that is, at the very least worth an extended look. Doug Whaley said yesterday that he would consider drafting a qb in the draft. This is pure insanity. The Bills are closer then theyve been to the playoffs in a long time and instead of loading up on talent around taylor, they would rather start again. Come on now Buffalo! Obviously there is a concern that Taylor is in the last year of his contract but do you really think he would command a ridiculous salary on the open market. With his limited experience and guarenteed starting job in Buffalo he would be hard pressed to find a better opportunity elsewhere. Thus giving Buffalo all of...

Seahawks fan prove why everyone hates them

Some dumbass fan decided to put up a petition on the internet to ban Cam Newton from their stadium. Let that sink in for a second. I have always defended Cam and the way he plays the game but I can kind of understand how he annoys certain people. I was actually yelling at my TV when he was doing jumping jacks on the sideline during the Cards game, but that is a story for another day. Anyways, if online activism, butthurtness and over-sensitivity were combined to make the perfect concoction of ridiculousness this would be it. Bud, your team lost, take it like a man. Starting a petition banning a guy that your defence couldn't stop on the field has to be the worst look possible for you. Give up bud football doesn't need soft ass muthafuckers like yourself. Unfortunately, this is par for the course for idiot Seahawk fans. Whether its jumping on and off the bandwagon or claiming you invented the 12th man mantra, you never cease to amaze me. I think the funniest part about some Seah...

Could be the last rodeo for Peyton

What most of us expected has been confirmed today. Manning told Belicheck that this could be his last year. This is smart move by the general (as Cam would say), he hasnt been the same all year and father time is really catching up to him. It is kind of ridiculous that I am saying this about a qb about to make his fourth superbowl start but here we are. This is one of those things that wont really hit us until he leaves. Everytime a great retires, you can tell people "I watched him play". Hopefully things end well for the forehead. It would be very Elway-esque if he could win the superbowl and then ride off into the sunset. Only time will tell if Peyton can have the story book ending.

AFC title game recap

Hell of a game. I have never seen Brady struggle so much in a playoff game before. Sure it wasnt really his fault but that was ridiculous. Even more ridiculous was not changing the snap count the entire game. Demarcus Ware and Von Miller were in his lap within two seconds of the snap. You have to make that fuckin adjustment. This game also proves that you need to be able to run the ball (at least a little bit) to beat good teams in the playoffs period. This Denver defence is for real, they literally have no weakness. Two probowlers up front and three in the secondary is beyond ridiculous. They showed just how dominate they can be by holding the Patriots in check all game, that doesn't fuckin happen. Not to mention they covered Peyton's ass in the second half. He had maybe two good drives all game ( the two tds to Daniels), other then that he kind of struggled. The beauty of Denver is he doesnt have to be the Peyton Manning of old, he just needs to be Alex Smith. The defence has...

Thomas Davis breaks arm

This could be a crucial blow for the Panthers. From what I here he plans to play through it. I dont think you can expect anything less from this guy. He has three torn ACLs in the same knee so a broken arm is nothing short of a cake walk. In all seriousness, Davis and Keuchly are the driving forces of this defence and if one of them is missing you have a serious problem. Even if he is at 50%, Davis can still make an impact on the game. He's never been to a superbowl so I doubt this keeps him out

NFC Championship Recap

Well that sucked. I know I gave you a little snipit of how I felt on Sunday but I definetely need to provide a little bit of an analytical approach. So as to keep what little journalistic integrity I still have intact. From the Cardinals point of view, it was a perfect storm. No one was ready to play (accept maybe David Johnson), Palmer had really his only bad game of the year (yes it was historically bad) and the turnovers, oh gawd the turnovers. If you play this game over, I think we still lose but fuck if we give up 9 turnovers. Like that was just the culmination of everything that can go bad for a footabll team. The facts are we need a consistent pass rush (this must be addressed in the offseason). We need another corner, Behtel is a great backup and one hell of a special teamer, nothing more. Those were the biggest weaknesses for the team all year and fuck if Carolina didnt know that. As far as the Panthers are concerned, this is one hell of a team. The play calling on offence...

Fuckin fuckedy fuck fuck!!!!!!

Not the way I intended this fuckin year to end. Just floatin on a dream for four straight months, a hell of a playoff win last week and then this. I'm fuckin embarassed. Palmer looks absolutely pitiful, the defence cant stop shit and holy fuck Pat Pete, did you actually do that on a fuckin punt return. I'm not gonna sit here and say that Carolina doesnt deserve any credit because they fuckin do. This is a hell of a team. They will be the superbowl champs no doubt in my mind. Just...I can't even fuck!!!!!! I know I'm coming off as ungrateful but at this point I rather not have even made it this far. Its the age old question is it better to not even have a chance or get close to the summit only to be crushed. I'll tell you one thing, 6 turnovers makes the former look outstanding right now.

Idiot Cards Fan puts season in jeopardy

http://www.fox10phoenix.com/news/arizona-news/78142147-story. This fucking idiot just jinxed us. I cant believe it. We were doing so well as fanbase, just sliding under the radar. I mean lets face it out of all of the teams remaining the Cards are probably the least talked about. No dumb player shit in the media (looking at you Denver), no idiot fans on the message boards and most of all no stupid tatoos. Until this fuckin guy comes along and just shovels a bunch of shitty Karma all over us. Honestly dude, when has anyone ever gotten a superbowl tatoo only to win said superbowl. This could have straight up ruined the season....goddamn we better win on sunday.

The Broncos need to pipe down

When has shit talking the Pats ever worked out for anyone. Listen I hate the Pats as much as the next guy but it seems everytime you shit talk them they crush you. Denver has been going off all week on Brady and Gronk and it is not helping anyone but the Pats. I have to say Gronk also roasted them on twitter, if you missed it heres the link http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/01/20/gronkowski-takes-issue-with-broncos-low-blows/. The one thing they did do right was getting the refs on their side via calling Gronk out for pushing off. If nothing else this has the makings of a good old fashion hate-off between two teams who appear to straight up despise each other. Sunday can't come soon enough.

Jared Allen out

The Panthers will dealt a notable blow today as Jared Allen has been ruled out. While Allen's stats dont jump off the page, his veteran leadership and steady play speak for themselves. A loss like this at this time of year has the potential to throw a dominant defensive line off (just a little bit). When preparing for any playoff game, the mental as well as the physical needs to be there. Plugging in a player who has not started for the majority of the year has the potential to throw off the mental side of things as well as the chemistry. I know my Cardinals fandom is showing through but I honestly believe that there is a chance this effects the Panthers a little bit. A little bit goes a long way in the playoffs.

AFC Championship Game Preview

Manning vs. Brady, this historical matchup is one weve seen before blah blah blah. This game is about two things: 1. The Broncos defence and running game 2. The Pats short passing game. It isn't 2013 anymore, Manning is no longer the catalyst on this team. I know this matchup makes headlines but the Broncos are a team that now relies on their dominate defence and their power run game period. Manning needs to manage the game, not win it. As for the Pats short passing game, if the Broncos can limit those underneath throws to Edleman and hold Gronk in check (under 85 yards), then they have a chance. I think this defence is up to the challenge. The problem for the Broncos, however is that the Pats expose your weaknesses on defence. They will put a million in the box and press denvers receivers. They will force Manning to do something he might not be able to do anymore, throw deep and outside the numbers. If he can do it then we have ourselves a matchup, if not a blow out. X-factors: Ma...

NFC Championship Game Preview

Its almost here and I am fucking pumped. I have to say (as a cards fan), I was not sure we were gonna make it this far. Such a surreal experience. That being said this going to be one hell of a game. Concerning Carolina, their run game must be on point. I mean it usually is but this secondary will take away the pass. With nor real threats outside for Carolina (Ted Ginn drops too many balls) the Cards will focus their energy on eliminating Greg Olsen. They usually struggle against tight ends but I believe they will get creative in their quest to stop one of the best players no one ever talks about. I fully expect the Panthers to do what they do, run the ball with Cam and Stewart and control the clock. They will want to dominate the time of possession to keep the Cards potent offence on the bench as much as possible. On the other side of the ball, the Cards have to figure out how to get David Johnson (and maybe Ellington) going. They really struggled with the run recently, that cant happ...

Cam Newton is the MVP

Was there any doubt in anyone's mind. Sure Tom Brady deserved consideration but in my mind it should not have been close. The only QB to pass for 30 plus tds and rush for 10 plus tds in a year with nothing resembling a number 1 reciever. 15-1 record and a trip to the NFC Championship game. The ability to carry a team with average weapons and below average tackles all the while missing John Stewart for three games is nothing short of amazing. The guy deserves the shit out of this award. Now if housewives would stop writing letters about his conduct he'd be all set.

Antonio Smith on Brady

Love his comments. Brady is one of the members of the superstar club. If you are not aware the superstar club is a group of bonafide stars who get the benfit of the doubt from the refs. Odell Beckham and Peyton Manning (not Cam Newton) are two others who fall into this club (there are many more. Whenever a guy is not ejected for trying to kill a corner (Beckham) or gets a flag everytime he is touched (Brady and Manning) it is because they are in the superstar club. These guys are highly marketable faces of the NFL and they will get the benefit of the doubt when it matters. It's really savvy from a business standpoint. Protect your most important products and maximize revenue. Anyways Smith's comments were spot on. Brady is always whining to the refs about a hit and a lot of the times he will get a flag. This is fact, any non-pats fan knows this. I like that he also said the guy will get up and keep on grinding because he will. He is not the type to sulk but goddamn if he wont g...

Josh Gordon could be back soon

Am I the only one who would love to see Josh Gordon back? (Cleveland fans excluded). The guy is a hell of a reciever whos only real crime was that he was kind of dumb. In fact, his case helped the NFL fix their prehistoric marijuana laws. Guys just a dumb stoner who likes to party, nothing more. Also, I didnt understand his latest suspension. He had some drinks on a plane, so what? The NFL can police any drug they want but I thought grown ass men could drink. I know I'm coming off a little ignorant right now but I honestly hope this guy can put down the ganja for the next 6-8 years. If so we are looking at a special player that just might be able to bring cleveland out of the abyss.

Lesean Mccoy's love affair with Chip Kelly

Get over it already bud. Its been a year and you got traded. I've never seen someone hold a grudge for this long over a trade. His remarks are often unprovoked too. The latest news is him saying that the 49ers can score if they buy into the system....no shit bud. You are on the Buffalo Bills, why do you still care about him? I mean it kind of makes sense, by all accounts Shady is a huge loser off the field. Great player, big loser. There is multiple stories about him racking up ridiculous bills at restaurants and not leaving a tip. There was his girls only party (well thats kind of cool, actually) and his talking in the third person. You're a great running back and also, not the only great player chip got rid of. Relax and keep tearing it up. Sincerely, super annoyed NFL News guy

Eddie Lacy's fat ass

The usually low key Mcarthy confirmed what everyone with a brain was thinking: Eddie Lacy has been a fat sack of shit all year. Anytime you get called out by a coach who doesn't speak, you know you are in trouble. Lacy's problem is he plays the wrong position. If he was on the o or d line this behaviour wouldn't matter. However, when you run for a living it might dawn on you to, you know be in shape. Like cardio wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. It is kind of hard when you live in Wisconsin thought. A place known for its beers and bratwurst, not a lot of options for a dude with a massive appetite. In all seriousness though, this is kind of tragedy. This guy is a top 5 back when he is not eating everything in site. You have your whole life to gain a billion pounds but only a small window as an NFL running back.....sort your shit out.

Divisional Round Recap: Steelers and Broncos

This exactly the game I expected. Maybe a little bit closer and a little less points but overall, I kind of saw this coming. Denvers defence dominated and Peyton took care of the ball. Big Ben had his moments and Bryant made some big plays to keep them in it. No Antonio Brown really hurt them. Also, Manning is getting a lot of flack for his performance. Anyone who watched that game saw the amount of dropped passes by those recievers. Sure he does not have the same zip he used to but he is still capable of managing a game. Overall, this was a classic playoff tilt that was close right down to the end. What more could you want out of playoff football....well maybe some more tds.

Divisional Round Recap: Panthers-Seahawks

Wierd, weird game. Coming into it I though this might be the game of the weekend. The teams appeared to be a good matchup for each other. All and all it was kind of entertaining but holy shit that first half. When the Panthers are good, they are unstoppable. 31 first half points against one of the best scoring defences is no joke. A healthy John Stewart puts this offence in the stratosphere. However, their ability to keep a lead leaves something to be desired. That and a hot Russell Wilson is scary. That was one hell of a comeback that came up just short. You give this guy an offensive line and a few more weapons, he might put the rest of league on notice. Weird game through and through. I can tell you one thing, I am not looking forward to playing the Panthers next week.

People love Cam Newton

So Cam Newton got another letter about his conduct today. Let that sink in for a second. An NFL player has received two letters from two different fan bases about the way he celebrates. What the flying fuck is going on here. Honestly, has anyone made people more angry then Cam Newton. This is a guy whos only crimes are he wins and he has fun doing it. There are more obnoxious players in the league (Burfict and Pacman) and there are sure as hell worse people yet Cam Newton gets peoples blood to boil. The guy who gives a kid in the stands a ball after every touchdown. The guy who brought a kid with cancer onto the field for a game. This is the guy that we are going to rally against...wow. The Seahawk fan who had his towel disrespected, should not have done two things: lost and waved the freaking towel in his face. Now hes going on about disrespecting his community (of football fans), give it a rest guys. I'm convinced that everyone who hates the way Cam Newton "carries" him...

Marshawn Lynch done in Seattle

End of an era here. For as much shit as I give the Seahawks (I fuckin hate them), the one thing I have always liked is Beast Mode. The guy gives zero fucks about anything. Media Fuckem, Rehabing in the team facility fuck it. Showing up to play whenever he feels like it: yup. Aright the last one was a little below the belt but leading up to the game Pete Carroll said he had no idea about Marshawn (evidently he was rehabbing somewhere else), I digress. You gotta love this guy. Hes impossible to tackle, plays at 110 every snap and seems like a decent dude. Hope he stays in the league (preferably outside of my division), guy is one of a kind on and off the field. Even though he haunts my dreams, the league would not be the same without him.

Apparently the Packers threw a hail mary on Saturday

I dont think I have ever heard of an instance where the team that lost a playoff game gets more attention then the team that one. Someone want to explain this shit to me. I get it the hail mary was huge and unexpected and added to the awesomeness that was this football game but holy fuck shut up about it. They lost, so get off the Packers dick. Every news station and sports sight is all over this play, give it a rest already. The thing that we should be talking about is Larry Fitzgeralds near two hundred yard game. Not to mention the Cards, not the Pack will be playing Carolina. I mean maybe this a good thing. This a team that responds well to lack of media attention. We have been overlooked as far as coverage goes all year. Which is fine, I rather this then the nightmare they have in Seattle. Just a bunch of mouthpieces blabbering about how they should have won and apprently god is a Seahawks fan. Anyways, lets take this under dog status and make a playoff push here...wouldnt have it ...

Divisional Round Recap: Cards-Green Bay

This might have been one of the best football games I have seen in a while. There were huge plays, controversy and the right team won. It was a hell of a game before the theatrics started. I have never rode such an emotional rollercoaster in my life. The high of 4th and 20 and the low of that good damn hailmary to a fuckin kick returner. The weirdness of the coin that didn't flip to the shear will of Larry Fitzgerald willing this team to victory. I mean, Im convinced that no one was going to stop him on that catch in overtime. It replays in my head over and over. The guy is running two miles an hour and no one can fuckin stop him, just compelling stuff. The packers have the worst playoff luck of all-time between this game and Seattle last year, just sheer robbery. All I know is this Cardinals team is fuckin for real. This is going to be an NFC Championship game for the ages.

Divisional Round Recap: Pats and Chiefs

I have to say, this game went exactly how I thought. The Patriots forced the Chiefs to play outside of their game plan (Alex Smith threw 50 passes and Kelce was neutralized). This coupled with the return of Edleman and a healthy Gronk proved to be too much for KC. Give them credit though, they did persevere, if not for the slowest drive of all-time, KC had a real shot of potentially coming back. The impact that Edleman has on a game cannot be understated. Because he's small and white, people just assume Brady makes him what he is. The reality is that they feed off of each other. With him back in the lineup, we saw the Brady that his been missing for the last 5 weeks. Keep in mind he torched Sean Smith and Marcus Peters....Brady cant run routes for him, now can he? I digress. Another year, another Pats AFC Championship game...holy fuck am I sick of it.

Divisional Round Preview: Steelers-Broncos

Weird game. Vontaze Burfict has single handily destroyed Pitts most important players. Ben and Brown last week and Bell early in the season. On the other side, the broncos have made the puzzling decision to go back to Peyton Manning. Oswieler is the present and the future  and he has proven as such (save the Chargers game). He gives them the best chance to win period. Peyton had his moment in the sun but he just cant get it done anymore (just look at his regular season stats). The fact of the matter is it doesnt matter. Peyton just needs to take care of the ball and the defence will do the rest. Pitt doesnt really have a chance in this game. Ben, while tough cant really throw the deep ball with his shoulder and his number one target is out. Couple that with the continued absence of deanglo williams and you have a real issue. Unless Martavis Bryant and Fitz Toussiant turn in ridculous games, the Denver defence will have a field day. X-Factors include: Bryant and Toussiant and for De...

Divisional Round Preview: Seattle-Carolina

This should be a hell of a game. Two quarterbacks who have been on fire recently, two tough defences and two devastating run games (lynch is back). This wont be your typical grind it out game, though that will be the theme. The fact of the matter is the quarterbacks are too good for an 80's style ball game. X-Factor for Carolina has to be the wideouts. Going up against a great secondary like this gaining seperation will be key. We know olsen and Newton will get theres but its Ginn and Funchess against Sherman and Lane that might decide this game. If Carolina has a vertical element, they have proven that they are unstoppable. On the other side, how could the X-Factor not be Marshawn Lynch. The meculiar running back keeps things very close to the chest. We thought he was playing last week, only to fin out that he didnt even make the trip. All signs point to him leaving seattle after this year. This is what makes him dangerous. You just know that he wants his last hurrah with Seattle ...

Doug Peterson to philly

as you might have heard, Chiefs OC Doug Petersen is set to become the next coach of the Eagles. This is fuckin wierd for a couple different reasons 1. Why would the Eagles hire a disciple of the coach they fired a few years back. Chances are he's going to install a similar offence and coach with a similar style as that fire croched fat man that left philly. Just a wierd hire. The second reason this is fucked is they hired him during a playoff run. Are the Chiefs just giving up on game planning for the pats? Or was Petersen one of those OCs that doesn't do squat a la. Joe Philibin back in the packer days. Time will tell I guess

Mcadoo to the giants

I mean, I guess it makes sense. The guy has a good repoire with Eli and helped him have a great year. Also, hiring within the franchise is always a good step following the departure of a long time coach. To be honest I dont really know enough about the guy but keeping your franchise qb happy is of the utmost importance. He would be wise to hire some experienced assistants to help with the other side of the ball. Especially, after a report that he might have trouble taking control of the locker room. All in all I think its a good hire if he is willing to learn and listen to his assistants.

Coughlin out of consideration for the Eagles job

This is the least surprising news I've heard in a while. The fact that the giants have'nt been to playoffs and Tom is in his 70's should have been enough. Add the fact that the Eagles and Giants hate each other and you were looking at the ultimate Benedict Arnold move. I was in disbelief when I heard this rumour. They guy has a million grandkids and has clearly lost his touch as a couch. Just ride off into the sunset Tommy, you have your rings. PS: The eagles thinking this was a possibility is a psycho move. You have to think that on some level this was a troll job. If not, there needs to be legit concern in Philly. Get a normal coach and try to salvage the dumpster fire Chip left you with.

Chip Kelly to San Fran

This could be good. San Fran has the exact mentaility that this nut loves. A strong running game, a mobile qb (assuming hes back) and a good enough defence to deal with his bullshit. After all, what did Chip try and build in philly: an offence that has a running mentaility. Also, he had a large missing piece to his puzzle: a running qb. He now has that in Kap. Look I know Chip is an egomanical mutherfucker but this marriage can work. There are a couple things that need to happen though: they need Kap back, Carlos Hyde needs to be healthy and dont let him have control over personnel. If all three of these criteria are filled then you may have a semi-competitive team. As far as NFL jobs go this is the best Winnie the Pooh could have hoped for outside of his man crush Mariota.

divisional round predication: Patriots-Chiefs

This game is a tough one, lots of injuries coming in. I'm going to write this blog on the assumption that Gronk, Edleman, Hightower and Jones play for the Pats and Maclin and Hali play for the Chiefs. As much as I hate the Pats and goddamn do I hate Pats, they have proven that when healthy they are still one of the best teams in the league. From what I have heard all of those players above are going to play which means their offence should be running smoothly once again. On the Chiefs side they have a tough task going up against this pats front seven. The speed of their linebackers and safeties will put a lot of pressure on Andy Reid to open up the offence and take more shots down the field. This means that someone else needs to step up other the n Travis Kelce. It could be tough for Maclin because of the high ankle sprain. This leads me to the Chiefs X-Factor of the game: Chris Conely. The rookie has all of the tools and showed us a little sneak peek when he caught a TD last week....

divisional round predictions: Cardinals-Packers

Holy fuck am I excited. Its felt like forever since my cards had a game this big (2008 to be exact). A lot of people seem to think that our beatdown of the Packers actually meant something. Sure it did at the time but come on people this is playoff football we are talking about here. Plus anyone who watched the game last week knows the Aaron is back to his old tricks. I know it was against a shitty secondary but there is definitely something to be said about 5 straight scoring drives. Anyways, when I look at this game I see a couple of X-Factors. On the Packers side it has to be the running game. Whenever the running game is on this team is dangerous for the simple fact that teams cant tee off on rodgers. This means that fat fuck of running back needs to do something other then get three yards and fall down. This also means Starks needs to show something like he did last week. Im not going to lie, the cards front seven is dealing with some injuries at the moment which means they are mo...

Rams moving to LA

Well it finally happened. Not too sure how I feel about this. California already has three teams (Oakland, San Diego and San Fran), so why another? I get that San Diego or Oakland was supposed to move to LA as well but that still gives one state four fuckin franchises. Why did the NFL leave LA in the first place? Attendance. The teams weren't awful, the problem was when they were average to below average no one ever showed up. I mean can you blame them, there is so much to do in LA, not to mention there are a lot of artsy types (you know people who dont give a fuck about sports). To be fair its been a while since a team has been there. This could be great for the NFL, who knows. It just seems like a gamble is all.

Hue Jackson to Cleveland

Alright Cleveland dont screw this up. You've got one hell of a coach here, just try and be patient for a change. I love this hire. Hue Jackson is a hell of a football coach who has coached both offence and defence and was actually pretty successful in his one year in Oakland. That being said, this is the Browns were talking about here. They are in a black hole of dysfunctional despair that is going to take at least two years to come out of. The big problem with this is no coach has gotten a chance to firmly rebuild this team in his own image. It sounds like the Browns actually want to let Hue be Hue by giving him control over personnel. If they are serious about this then I love the hire. P.S. I have been a cautious supporter of Johnny Manzeil on this very blog. While I still think he can at least be a functional quarterback in the NFL, I believe Jackson is making the right decision by moving on from him. Anyone with a brain knew he has been manufacturing his departure from Clev...

Ben Roethlisberger

I've said it once and I'll say it again, the balls on this guy are ridiculous. SO it came out on monday that he had a sprained AC joint (an injury that is painful as fuck), which should keep any quarterback out of a game. He wasnt sure if he would play, while all us rational people were thinking "its landry jones time". Then yesterday we hear he also has ligament damage which essentially means denver is walking right into the NFC Championship game. I was worried that we were doomed for another shitty qb performance that would ruin a playoff game (im looking at you brian hoyer). Low and behold, the toughest quarterback of all-time is going to play. Can you believe that shit? All I know is if you didnt respect the guy before (on the field, off the field is another story), you sure as hell have to throw some shine his way now. The dude is always hurt and somehow finds a way to miss minimal games and is goddamn effective I might add.

Vontaze Burfict Suspension

The NFL has had a lot of assholes. Scratch that, the NFL has had a lot of gaping assholes on the field. From James Harrison to Brenden Merriweather there have been "dirty hits". The result is usually a big fine or, at the very worst a one game suspension. So can someone explain to me how Burfict ends up with a suspension that is equivalent to someone who beats his wife or drives around in a car with a baby, some weed and a loaded gun? Ill tell you why.....its the media. Everytime the media comes to a consensus on a player or a play then the NFL crumbles and gives them exactly what they want, so as to save face. Everyone, I mean everyone wanted blood after that game over. Someone needed to pay. There were four candidates: Pacman Jones, Mike Munchak, joey Porter or Vontaze Burfict. Burfict won the lottery because he has a history and hes an asshole. A couple things NFL, we need consistency in fines/ suspensions and holy fuck grow a spine for a change.

Wildcard Recap: Washington-GB

Kirk Cousins looks good, doesnt he? I know they didnt win, blah blah but anyone who thought they would was goddamn delusional. This is a classic case of a team not ready for the playoffs taking advantage of a down year within their division. Dont get me wrong, this has the look of a team that is going to get better and better now that they have their quarterback. They have a great core of young players and with a few additions on the offensive line and in the secondary they could be great. That being said, you had to know that Aaron Rodgers would turn it on at some point. If anyone in a sport has ever been due it would have to be rodgers in this playoff game. 7 straight games without three hundred yards is a staggering stat (its eight now but thats not the point). Sure he didnt break that streak but he looked like old aaron in the second half. The game itself was a good one, you really thought washington was going to take it there for a second. Cousins and Reed looked like world beater...

Wild Card Recap: Pitt-Cincy

Wasnt that great? I mean everyone is all outraged and shit, but people are always outraged at something. I personally loved every second of this game. It just had an old NFL feel to it (by old I mean mid to late 2000's). Hard hits, borderline scraps and good old head hunting. This is the game I wanted (not expected). Two teams that essentially cancel each other out because of how well they know/ hate each other. I feel for the Bengals right now. Burfict should have got that penalty, no doubt about it but the penalty on Jones that put Pitt in chipshot range was bullshit. That was a cancel out sitaution because joey godamn porter was on the field. Not to mention I didnt even see him touch the ref. Really strange stuff here. As far as the actual play goes you have to give it up for two guys with immense pressure and limited experience. Fitzgerald whatever the fuck was incredible considering his lack of experience and touches and AJ Mccarron looks like the real deal. He has been steady...

Wild Card Recap: Texans-KC

As I said in my predicition, i dont think brian hoyer could win this game. What I failed to realize is just how shitty this guy is. His numbers in the regular season are actually pretty good considering his supporting cast this side of deandre hopkins. But five turnovers man, seriously. How do you come back from that? It was not even the number of turnovers but the way he played. The guy could not come close to completing a pass and the ones he did were mostly deandre hopkins being a freak of nature. That might have been one of the worst playoff performances by a qb and a team ive ever seen and i watch jake delhomme single handily send the cards to the superbowl. You have to give KC a lot of credit as well. They took JJ Watt out of this game doing what they do best: run the ball and complete short passes. They may have provided a blue print for limiting one of the great forces of the NFL. With a healthy Maclin this is a team that could surprise New England next week.

Wild Card Recap: Vikings- Seahawks

What a fucking ridiculous game. It was everything and nothing I expected at the exact same time. What I did expect was an old school showdown between two teams with a strong running game and good defences. What I did not expect is fuckin Seattle doing ridculous things that no team should be able to get away with. They were shut down the whole goddamn game and russell wilson looked ordinary for a second there. Once that snap went over his head, I was thinking to myself "thats it their done". What does this fuckin guy do, he picks up the ball 20 yards back, dodges the whole vikings team and somehow gets the ball to a wide open reciever. So Seahawks it hurts, these guys have some sort of deal with the devil when it comes to shit like this. When you consider the fact that muthafuckin blair walsh cant'd drain a 20 whatever yard field goal, then you really have to wonder. What sort of goddamn sorcery is this? As a cards fan I am legit worried about these guys right now....go pa...

wildcard preview: Packers vs Washington

Aaron Rodgers has a chance to right the ship against a suspect yet oportunistic washington defence. This is the game where we start to see vintage aaron rodgers again. Whenever he says something to the tune of relax or i need to play better....watch out! In all seriousness Washington is a good team with a lot of potential but they have too many holes to be a force in the playoffs. The offensive line and running game are average and kirk cousins just is not ready for the spotlight quiet yet. Packers 24 Redskins 14

wild card preview: Seattle vs. Minnesotta

Im predicting an upset here. I think the cold weather will finally slow down russell wilson. This will force the game to be a showdown of running backs and betting adrian peterson would be unwise. The defences look to have big games and this might make points hard to come by. In the end I predict a long adrian peterson run to be the difference Seattle-14 Minnesota- 17

Wild Card Predication: Bengals vs. Steelers

Gotta love this divisional matchup of two injury riddled teams. The Steelers on the one hand are down to Fitzgerald Toussiant at running back. The Bengals on the other hand are rolling with AJ Mccarron at quarterback. This should make for a bit of an unpredictable game if I have ever seen one. Pittsburgh will ride and die with the pass. The key for them will be getting the most out of Martavias Bryant. The bengals will do everything they can to shut down Antonio Brown. Heath Miller does not posses game breaking ability and Markus Wheaton lacks consistency. This makes Bryant the X-factor. At his best he is a freak of nature with a similar skill set to Calvin Johnson and Julio Jones. At his worst he is a Justin Hunter clone, that disappears for stretches at a time. If he can turn in one of the those Jones/Johnson games then Pittsburgh will score enough to overcome their awful pass defence. This leads me to the second X-Factor for this game: Mr. AJ Mccarronn. Pittsburgh's pass def...

Wildcard Preview: Chiefs and Texans

This is going to be a classic nfl game. Not classic like a game we will look back on but a game that has a shocking resemblance to the nfl of the 1960's. Both teams rely heavily on their running games and defence. The difference is the chiefs have more overall talent. The defences are a push, both are capable of single handily keeping the respective teams in the game. The offences are a different story. Brian Hoyer has flown under the radar but after the release of ryan mallett he did exactly would he was supposed to do: take care of the ball and force feed deandre hopkins. The problem is alex smith is better at taking care of the ball and managing a game. In fact, he has found more success pushing the ball down the field this year. That combined with Maclin, Kelce and the combination of West and Ware will prove to be the difference. The Texans do not have enough weapons and brian hoyer has no playoff experience. This will prove too much for the Texans to overcome. I predict a clos...

Calvin Johnson

news just came out today and I couldn't be more pissed. When I say pissed, I don't mean at the decision. It would just be a shame to see one of my favorite recievers of all time call it quits at the top of his game. The nfl would be the same without megatron in the fold. I understand that nine years can really break you down, but the nfl window is incredibly small and you have to squeeze everything you can get out of it.

The Packers

What is going on right now? Ever since I started following football two things were guaranteed: a lose at lambeau field and a dominant aaron rodgers. Oh how the script has flipped. There still in the playoffs, I know but this packers team is dealing with something we havent seen in forever: problems on offence. You can point to the oline injuries and struggles or that fat shit they call a running back or the recievers lack of speration etc. But at some point you have to blame the star child. Watching him the last couple of weeks something just seems different. I couldnt put my finger on it and then it hit me: mechanics. I know what youre thinking "how can arguably the best qb in the league be struggling with mechanics"? Trust me Im just as baffeled as you are. Whether its a lack of confidence in his line or recievers, rodgers seems to be fading away on his throws. He is patting the ball more then I have ever seen and i dont think I saw him step into any of his throws yesterda...

Freaking embarrassing showing yesterday

What the fuck was that. After the win a couple weeks back I was very confident that the cards would win (mind you not by a lot). Holy fuck was I wrong. We got spanked in all aspects of the game. The offence was out of sink (a rarity this year), we couldnt run or stop the run (always a recipe for disaster) and special teams looked horrendous. Credit where credit is due, Seattle looks like the real deal. They have this way about them where they heat up at exactly the right time. Their x factor has always been the passing game. This is a team that can straight up run the ball but when russell wilson started playing like steve young....thats when I got nervous. Not the way you would like to go into the playoffs but godamn is arians is not going to spin this into some kind of motivation. Also, a week off for guys like palmer, fitz and redding is invaluable.
