The worst coin toss in history

Ok, we get it bill your smarter then everyone else, always bucking logic, going against the grain (insert turn of phrase here). Seriously thought the guy is probably the best coach of all-time but what the fuck was that? Your gonna kick in overtime bro? Seriously? I know your offence is down to the practice squad but you still have brady and fitzmagic was killing it. Better then the decision is all of the butthurt pats fans saying they lost on purpose to keep pitt out of the playoffs. You were the worse team yesterdat and frankly the team has looked fucking ordinary recently. Also that clip of slaters face and cromartie's reaction was pure gold

Odell Beckham

He's a gay right? I mean has to be. Never seen someone so angry over a little trash talk. SUre Josh Norman is a scumbag but Beckhams cheap shots in that game were some of the most pathetic things ive ever seen. Theres always a back and forth with corners and recievers and sure things can get heated (see Smith, Steve) but to spear someone like that is classless. It then comes out latter that Norman used a homphobic slur and thats what caused things. This coupled with the hair, the clip of him checking out some dudes ass and his ridiculous reactions make me think hes gay. Not there is a problem with that, I digress. This dude needs to get himself in check quick or every team has a roadmap to take him out of the game, you cant have that as a legit superstar.

9 in a row baby

SO ive been on blog hiatus for a little while now, when your traveling the world getting to a computer can be tough. But im back online now just in time to say holy fuck are the cards good. Like green bay is no slouch and going in there and crushing them without the honey badger was something no one expected. Ive said it all year, if the pass rush can come alive then this is a special team capable of making a super bowl run. David Johnson looks like a star, floyd gets better by the week and if ellington gets into a groove look out! Cant say ive been more optimistic about a cardinals team ever.....stay tuned

Khalil Mack

Guy is finally living up to the ridiculously unecessary media hype that his rookie season percured. Hes always been a great player but it just seemed everyone crowned him way too early. The guy had like 5 sacks last year and everyone just decided he was one of the best in the game. I'm just saying that the 99 madden rating was a little premature. But 5 sacks in a game is no joke and I think this will be the start of him living up to the ridcuolus hype. I mean his combination of run and pass game prowess is nothing to fuck with

Arizona Cardinals

Another week, another win. I am fully into the notion that we are superbowl contenders. Carson Palmer is the comeback player of the year bar none and tyrann mathieu should be is serious consideration for dpoy. Calais Campbell woke up and Pat Pete is the best corner in the league right now (yeah i said josh norman). Clinching the playoffs was huge, now its time to grab home field and head to the superbowl

Ron Rivera

I love this guy just sticking it to these dumbass reporters. Everyone is all over concussions dick and its really starting to get annoying. They hired independent doctors who are impartial to put these guys through protocol. Maybe cam newton got hit in the head and didnt get a concussion, it happens. Unfortunately, this will probably force the league to step up its efforts (in some insufferable way) because people at home can't stand the thought of a pro athlete getting hurt (and it didnt even happen). Sad times we live in, sad times.

The hail mary to end all hail marys

What a fuckin game. The lions showed flashes of the team they were a short year ago. For one half I was thinking that these team would win out and maybe sneak into the playoffs and then aaron rodgers decided to show up and the rest is history. More worrisome for the packers is the fact that rodgers has to do all of this shit himself. Their line was getting bullied by devin taylor (of all people) and the running game has been nothing short of putrid. The one bright spot is richard rodgers who is really showing some serious skill. If this guy can keep it up, he will be one of the scariest covrs in the league. His combination of size and speed has him poised to be the next great tight end. Concerning the actual play in question, if nothing else it should show just how incompetent jim caldwell is. A lateral play Jim? How many times has a lateral play worked ever? Like one time. A hail mary has a much better chance, especially when all of the fuckin recievers are 6'3 plus. Come on man: ...

Manziel looks done in a Browns uniform

i used to really like pettine. He seemed like a good hard nosed coach. But his constant refusal to give up on a lost season is baffling. I don't care if you hate this guy, he was drafted in the first round. This means you have to see what you have at this point. Sure he's a dumb shit but is he a starter? Oh right you don't know because you refuse to try. Sure he fucked up but come on your a franchise in purgatory that needs to figure out if johnnys your quarterback. The longer you hold out, the more you put farmer in a bind. He needs to know definitively if this guy is worth the pick. If not he is going to use another first on a quarterback. This is a great time to sort out your priorities Cleveland. Your done this year, time to start evaluating talent. Hell it's time to start evaluating pettine

Chris Johnson Injury

Tough loss for the team. He started off very strong but his age began to show recently. I just hope that David Johnson is ready. Ellington has proved that he is best in a limited role (his recent injury seemed to drive that point home). I think Johnson was always going to be a good player but I took solace in the fact that we werent going to to need him to step up until next year. Such is the NFL, injuries happen and we need to be ready. However, these fuckin nut jobs saying that our superbowl hopes are over are idiots. Its not like we lost Palmer or Tyrann, running backs get hurt all of the time and fortunately it is arguably the deepest position on the team. As for Johnson, he has all of the tools to be a featured back and I think he will step into the role and perform admirably. His size, agility and pass catching are a great fit for this offence. Once his vision and ball security improves, we are looking at a complete back for years to come. The future is now in the desert.

Bill Lazor out for Phins

Finally! I wanted to like this guy so much. His system was a great fit for tannehill but his refusal to establish the run was fuckin weird. You dont have a top 5 wideout and qb, yet lamar miller is killing it, just goddamn weird. I just know that they better simplify things under this new cat. Keep the elements that work and run the fucking ball. Its on to next year for a team that just keeps showing how muthafuckin mediocre they are.

Cards niners

Look I'm not one to complain about a win but that was fucking disgusting. Allowing Shaun draughan and Blaine gabbert to march up and down the field was embarrassing. I know what your thinking: they only scored 13 but if you watched that game, you would see some serious flaws on defence. The offensive line was dominated And it took an embarassing 10 plays to punch it into the end zone on that crazy drive. The niners literally commited a million penalties inside the five and we barely got it in. A wins a win but the cards need to a. Hope Ellington and Johnson are good and b. Just keep improving because we look utterly average right now

Pats Broncos

Great game, awesome watch on Sunday night. Unfortunately the story was once again the incompetence of the refs. The phantom penalties on Chung and gronk were utterly ridiculous. Not to mention the clock run off was the biggest display of officiating incompetence I have ever seen. Bottom line is you have to give credit to brock, Anderson and Von miller. All of them stepped up in key spots and beat one of the best teams in the league. If your Denver, you have to give the keys to brock, you have no choice after his performance today

Chip kelly

oh chip, you just had to fuck around didn't you. First Jackson, then maclin and then mcoy. This isn't college bud, your system doesn't transcend talent. You know what though, you've had some success but if I can predict your play calling from my chair at home you've got a problem. Run another fuckin zone read on first down, I mean every first down chip come on bud. Look, I'm not ready to throw in the towel but get some talent and check a little bit of your ego at the door. Also you don't have to run the no huddle every play. That is if you want ur defence to have any success. Stick it out bud, you built this team, see it through. Get kaep or rg3 in the offseason, grab a vet reciever and for good sakes sure up that line. You're not that far off success you winny the pooh looking fuck.

Manziel demotion

Dont love the decision. Seems like Pettine was just looking for a reason not to start the kid. He wants to win now and I cant really blame him. The Browns love to fire coaches too early and I have feeling he will be next. The logical thing would be start the kid and see if you need to draft another quarterback this year. I know the whole rehab thing presents a problem but let johnny football do his thing for at least the rest of the year. Let him party his face off and give him a long leash as a starter. Then you can say you gave him a fair shot. Ride or die with Johnny, at the very least you can say you gave him his shot. Worst case hes gone, best case hes your franchise qb. But hey this is the browns we are talking about, nothing ever makes sense

Jameis Winston

I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised. I thought it was going to take this kid a couple years to find his groove. The last three or four games he looks like the real deal. He has the bucs in the playoff hunt again and he is doing it with improved decision making. Winston is a great combination of smarts, arm talent and accuracy. You add improved decision making into the mix and you are looking at a special prospect under centre. His improvement lies with counteracting his deep shots (his strength) with the ability to take what the defence gives him. Couple that with leadership ability and a revitalized bucs team and you have a team in the playoff hunt a year after sucking their way to the bottom. The five touchdown game he had on sunday was nothing short of special. Maybe not this year, but look for the bucs to make a playoff push. Lead by their twin towers, a revitalized muscle hamster and their young quarterback, the future looks bright in tampa.

Johnny Manziel

Dude why cant you just be normal. You know everyone is going to be on your dick if you are out drinking. Just do what all other nfl players (the smart ones) do, party at home. Throw a fucking house party and have everyone turn in their phones. There is a reason you are one of the only nfl players this happens to. Does that mean other guys dont party? fuck no. They just use their godamn mansions to protect their privacy. Stay home get a 30 rack and get trashed like everybody else. Am I the only one who sees the upside in this? You save money and you can get trashed without everybody fuckin judging you. I mean you think the whole rehab thing would at least make the guy a little more sneaky. Also fuck TMZ, you scumbags have nothing to do but creep on your people that you're clearly jealous of. Get a fucking life.

The refs are actually pathetic this year

Look, I am all about hating the patriots but that phantom whistle might have been one of the worst things I've ever seen. Come someone explain to me how the refs can be this terrible? Shit the replacement refs would almost be better at this point. It seems every weekend there is a new terrible call by the officials that ruins a game. There was the detroit-seattle game, golden tates fake catch and now this. Can we please hold the refs responsible? I have a couple ideas: number 1. fine these fuckers 2. make them explain their actions in a press conference and 3. make everything reviewable. Coaches need to be able to challenge penalties espically ones that cost them the game. Have those annoying talking head refs review penalties. They just come on the screen and tell you what they would have done instead of actually changing shit. Dean Blandino, your the head official, maybe help these guys instead of saying "they were wrong and I cant change it". Fuckin putz. Bottom line, ...

Joe Flacco is a fuckin animal

Tough loss for a team that just cant get it right this year. However Joe Flacco leading the team to W with no knee ligaments was nothing short of sick. How about the rams just injuring everybody. They broke the ravens two offensive stars in the matter of 3 quarters. Also, they were responsible for knocking not one but two cardinals quarterbacks out of action (not to mention bridgewater). Say what you want about the rams but no one wants to face them. They will beat the shit out of you regardless.

Arizona Cardinals

Just capped off a two game primetime stretch that effectively proved that this team is the real deal. There were alot of questions about strength of schedule and how we would fare against a legitimate teams. All I can say is bam! I dont want to start the hype train to early but this has the look of a team that can make a deep playoff run. The depth on offence combined with the strength of the secondary and front three is just too much to overcome for a lot of teams. However, offensive line consistency and the lack of a consistent pass rush could come back to bite us. Lets just say I'm cautiously optimistic.

Chuck Pagano

SO this just came out http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000582099/article/pagano-andrew-luck-needs-to-stop-playing-like-a-lb. What a little weasel pagano is. When things are going well he does the proper things: praises his players and does not take too much credit. When things are going bad he just loves to toss luck under the bus. This is not the first time either, he critiqued luck publicly after the jets game (i think). The dude plays with no oline and shitty playcalling but yeah lets blame him for trying to make something out of nothing. Hes been hit how many times? But yeah the one time he gets injured beating the broncos you blame him for playing like a linebacker. Bud, your a defensive coach with a shitty defence. Worry about not getting fired instead of pissing off your best player.

Aldon Smith

Weird timing here. We all knew something like this was coming but to do it midseason is beyond fucked. Of course it happened to the raiders too. They were just starting to look competent again for the first time and years and then bam the curse continues. This is not to say that the raiders are destined to fall off a cliff but this is a huge blow. He and Khalil Mack were looking like one of the best rush combos in the league for a while there. Hopefully Dereck Carr can continue to be the best qb no one is talking about or the raiders might have to wait until next year to make their move into the playoffs. Also Aldon Smith is retarded. Just pay for a driver like a normal professional athlete, dumb shit.

Rob Ryan

Finally! This guy has been coasting on his reputation for years. You cant blitz every play and still win ball games Rob, fuck man. If there is one positive to this it is that a ryan brothers reunion is on the horizon. Can you imagine that, a bloggers wet dream. Lets just hope he is a linebacker coach or some shit, another dcoordinator job might ruin him for good.

Cincy-Houston

What a brutal game. The kind of game that makes you question why you even watch football. Brutal drops, awful quarterback play and just a sad display on the ground from both sides. You have to give both defences some credit though, they both showed up in a big way. Not to mention TJ Yates the bengal killer. You have to give credit where credit is due, this guy learned the system in like a week and then pulled off one of the gutsiest performances by a backup qb in a while. He converted two third and longs in route to a ridiculous touchdown by deandre hopkins. Can we talk about hopkins for a second, he is a bonfide number one reciever if I've ever seen one. Three medicore quarterbacks throwing him the ball and he still puts up video game stats. This kid deserves serious praise, if the texans can get a quarterback the results could be dangerous. By the way this texans defence is being wasted by an incompetent offence that features no arian foster and one of the more exhausting qb caro...

Andy Dalton is fuckin salty guys

I hate JJ watt as much as the next guy but his post game comments concerning andy dalton were the equivalent of calling someone stupid. Fuckin grow a pair andy, you lost to a shitty texans team and failed to score a td. Take the game in stride and stop bitching about game integrity and role models. You stunk, admit it. P.S. JJ Watt is the biggest try hard, hardo on the planet for you guys who blindly love him because of how good he is

the nfl being the nfl

The NFL admitted yesterday that the baltimore-jacksonville game was fucked. A facemask caused the game-winning field goal and a jags win. However, the nfl said the play should not have happened as time expired before the snap. Look I know you guys fucked up but admitting it when you cant do anything about it is beyond psycho. All you idiots are doing is creating another reason for everyone to hate the nfl. Like mike carey or dean blandino on my tv every sunday, its a useless bit of info that can only piss off the viewer. We know you want to explain this stuff but when no change can happen what is the muthafuckin point?

Arizona-Seattle

Huge win. This effectively signifies the shift in power that I've been waiting for ever since BA took over. To go into seattle and essentially crush any hope of a playoff victory for our bitter rivals was beyond huge. There are still a few things along the offensive line that need serious work but the perseverance and offensive explosion displayed by this team makes them a serious threat. The seasons far from over but a three game lead feels damn good espically with the rams quarterback issues and the niners overall incompetence.

Seattle-Arizona

Someone want to explain to me how a struggling seahawks team is favoured over a red hot cards team? I'll wait. How many games do the hawks have to lose before we stop giving them the benefit of the doubt? The defence has been fuckin average especially in the fourth, the oline is bad and marshawn lynch hasnt been himself lately. Look, I'm not delusional I know this going to be a hard fought, close game. However, everywhere I look people seem to think that Seattle being at home is a an automatic win, maybe two years ago. Anyways I guess we will see come sunday night but this hawks team does not deserve the benefit of the doubt, as of right now they are third best team in the division period.

Stefon Diggs

The prennial tease of maryland football, not only has stayed healthy for a change but hes quietly setting the league a flame. This kid always had talent, 5 star recruit who always looked good when he was on the field. However the thing that surprised me is that he is able to great run routes and assimilate to an nfl offence so quickly. Usually these all purpose speed demons spend a season or two returning kicks and playing out of the slot while the learn the nuances of the NFL. For him to step into an outside role and unseat a couple of capable recievers to become teddy's go to target is nothing short of amazing. I dont want to jump on the bandwagon too quick here but this kid has all the makings of a number one receiver. Assuming the injury bug does not come back to bite him again.

Karlos Williams

Whats up with this fuckin guy. Hes a former safety, whos huge (6'1, 230) and all he does is score touchdowns. You guys see that stat last night? scored a td in every game hes played, thats fucking ridiculous. He's the gem this year. Every year there is some undrafted or late round back that makes every team look like an asshole for passing on him. I mean the signs were there, he was a four star safety who switched to running back at arguably the most successful school of the last 2-3 years. His stats did not look that great in college because of a frustrating time share that seems to plague most high end schools, I digress. What really jumps out at me is his explosiveness, break away speed and ability to play wide reciever. I thought david johnson was scary, this kid has to give you nightmares if your a corner trying to tackle him or a linebacker trying to cover him. Perfect change of pace from shady.

The Patriots

Brady this, gronk that, blah blah blah. Can we talk about possibly the most underratted duo in the entire nfl. Von Miller/ Demarcus Ware, aaron donald/ robert quinn, justin houston/ tamba hali and.......chandler jones/ jamie collins. All the focus is on the pats offence and angry tom brady but we forget that their pass defence is average as fuck. The reason no one has noticed is because chandler jones is leading the league in sacks with the quietest 9.5 sacks ever. Jamie Collins is a freak whos been a favorite of mine for a while now. The dude is a huge athlete who plays just about every position in the front seven and has had at least 5 tackles in almost every game. That includes 10 plus in two games. These guys deserve as much credit as brady and gronk do, yup I said it. Football is a two way game and its time we at least acknowledged the pats unheralded defence for a change

Andrew luck

Devestating news for the colts. He'll be out 2-6 weeks and it comes just as we were seeing glympses of the old Andrew luck. It's just one of those years for Indy, nothing seems to go right for longer the. A week at a time. The good news is there in the nfc south, the bad news is they will be hard pressed to win a playoff game. Also if you don't think Indy is still winning this division your a psycho. In the mean time pray for the 40 year old taking his job

Rodney Harrison

Dude just shut the fuck up already. I really liked the harrison and dungy combo, they were both in th nfl and they have really refreshing takes but holy shit is rodney harrison starting to get on my nerves. Dude was the dirtiest player in the league by far, yet feels the need to stick his nose in on such topics as jeff fisher's facial expressions and the dolphins "targeting" people. This was a guy who (rightfully) called out the nfl as a pansy league in comparison to when he played, which is true. Now hes doing this 360 saying the dolphins are too physical and jeff fisher laughed at his torn up knee. He probably laughed because you kept murdering his players everytime they went over the middle. Anyways get off your soap box rodney harrison. Your an old school, hard hitting, steriod loving nfl player from a day where hardhitting was celebrated. Be that guy and stop jumping on the public opinion train its a bad look for you, you fucking hypocrite.

Eddie Lacy

Who saw this coming. This guy is an unbelievable running back when hes not eating everything in sight. Unfortunately he is and the packers are paying for it. This is not to say that james starks is not a capable back, hes proved this time and time again. This is to say that no running back with this amount of talent should be a fat sack of shit with an eating problem. Dont go all lendale white on us eddie lacy, you could easily have been the leader in scrimmage yards this year. Junk food or immortality and a lot of money....its an easy fucking decsion for most but I guess not for eddie

Matt Stafford

This is an interesting one. I heard to day that the lions are iffy on this guys future, which is crazy considering what they accomplished only last year. They had the game in dallas if not for a dumb call on fourth down, I digress. Finding a competent quarterback is hard enough. Blaming said competent quarterback for a lack of a running game, offensive line and a swiss cheeses defence is craziness. Jim Caldwell is a terrible coach, we knew this in indy, they just fired their offensive corrdinator and their defence lost two key pieces. This record is a complete and utter organizational problem, not just matt satfford's fault. Unfortunately we have a tendency to straight up blame quarterbacks in this situation. This is a very talented roster that just needs the right coaching. Spiraling into a rebuild one year after a playoff run is why the lions havent won anything in a long ass time...lack of confidence and continuity in their players and coaches.

Marcus Mariota

I know I touched on this in a previous blog somewhere. Or maybe I didnt but that is precisely the point, im cautiously optimistic about marcus mariota right now. The reason I say catiously is because i have been down this road before with mobile option qbs. I was a big RG3, vince young and a number of other mobile qbs fan. As you can see by my examples when I jump on a scrambling qbs' bandwagon shit goes south (accept cam newton, fingers crossed). Anyways, enough of my bullshit supersition, this guy can fuckin spin it. Usually when these guys come out they put up very few yards and are put in position for easy throws and scoring opportunities so the numbers look nice. Mariota still runs a somewhat handcuffed system of option based, oregon football. What sets him apart is his ball placement and accuracy on medium-deep throws. It is well ahead of what rg3 and newtons were in their rookie years. ABove all else, i think this guy is going to be good, i just hope injuries dont do him in....

The Kaepernick-Newton comparison

SO this was something that everyone seemed fuckin fascinated with over the weekend. Because hey lets just put wins and ability aside and look at the stats. Watch one goddamn game, cam newton is the panthers on offence. Name one receiver on his team not named greg olsen....ill wait. How about the oline surely its them....oh mike oher is the left tackle yup. So what everyone is saying is that a blind qb who struggles to win games is on the same level as a potential mvp candidate who hasnt lost a game....come on! This just proves that stats can be deceiving and idiots love to compare apples and oranges. But hey blaine gabberts backup is just as good the qb of an undefeated team, get the fuck out of here.

Wes Welker

Ok, lets get something straight here. I see a lot of you fucking commenter/ key board activists thinking you guys know whats best for wes welker. Get the fuck out of here, hes a grown man who is 100% capable of making his own decisions. If he wants and is able to play football, all the power to him. This game passes you by quickly and his window was closing. The fact that he got a contract and still has a passion for the game is awesome. Are we getting to the point where we are in the business of telling a multimillionaire professional athlete whats safe and whats not? I sure as hell dont think so. And dont pretend like you wouldnt switch places with him in a second. You play a game and make more money then god....if you are willing and able go out there and kill it. Its worth not living as long. We cant get rid of the risk involved in employment, whats next are we going to tell miners we dont think they should make money because it hurts our feelings? Suck it up and let the man play t...

Jay Cutler

Where have the haters gone. Oh yeah, i guess its just one of those things where people cant admit they are wrong. When shit goes bad for cutler all of these fuckers come out of the woodwork and analyze his body language and facial expressions. This isnt fuckin modeling guys, either he plays well or he doesnt. RIght now hes playing well and gets zero credit. Most people hate cutler for no particular reason and frankly its hilarious. Anyways enjoy the great play of a dude with a cannon for an arm. Oh well, I guess we are going to see the haters come out after he throws an interception. Embrace the villan role and keep frowning jay, the people love it

Ben Watson

How about that old fucker. Just consistently relevant for the last decade or so. But right now the guy is playing like his patriots days and maybe better. I know Drew Brees picks random targets and makes them look incredible (willie snead) but I think there is something to this. The guy looks revitalized. His speed is not something you would expect from a guy pushing the twilight of his career. Can he drag the saints and that terrible defence to the playoffs? That remains to be seen.

Colin sackorpick

Has any qb had a worse combination of vision and touch ever? I always hated the guy but he did find ways to win by doing just enough and making plays when it mattered. It wasn't always pretty but he was a decent starter. This year, I don't fucking believe my eyes. Sure the team got a lot worse but this guy forgot how to play football it seems. He never had great eyes or smarts but he could find open targets and throw the deep ball. You would think at the very least e could manufacture some offence with his feet but holy fuck. I don't know if it's confidence or mechanics or both but this dude has fallen so far that the coaching staff sees blain gabbert as a better option. Just let that sink in for a minute

Tyrann mathieu

The honey badger is back. His play this year is a testament to how long most guys take to come back from an acl tear. Unless your Adrian Peterson or Carson Palmer, chances are you need a year before you are yourself on the field. The fact is this kid is dominating at corner and safety. He's got an amazing nose for the ball,  is smart, has great instincts and always seems to be one step ahead of the offence at all times. Pro football focus has him rated as the number one corner this year. Let that sink in. It's not revis, Sherman, Haden or peterson; its a part time, bareley 5'8 corner. I know I sound like a homer but this guy has to be right in the discussion for defensive player of the year. Add in his big play ability to everything I just talked about and you are looking at one of the most exciting, unique superstars out there

Johnny Manziel

Finally, holy shit. Unless your a cleveland homer there were not exactly high expectations for the season. It just seemed weird that the browns were not planning on contending but refused to see what their young qb has. Instead they stuck with a journeymen who had one good year and now hes a starter again (after being a backup for years). Your a young team with low expectations put in your first rounder from last year and see what he has plain and simple. He showed major improvements when he got the call this year, hes a dumb shit but he deserves the job. This mccown injury is actually a blessing for a directionless team....see what you have and then ride with johnny or start the qb search (again)

arizona cardinals

Definitely a tale of two halves. In the first one josh mcown looked like tom brady, the offence turned the ball over way too much and the run game was shutdown. In short terrible on both sides of the ball. But once again Bruce Arians proves why he is one of the most gifted head coaches in the NFL. They come out in the second half and look like a superbowl contendor. Big plays on both sides of the ball particularly a great pick by johnson and the breakout game that micheal floyd needed. I am still a little bit worried about generating a consistent pass rush but im just nitpicking at this point. Youd think after having such a shitty team to root for all these years would make me appreciate that a win is a win.....but ive had a taste of success (a playoff trip) and goddamn did it feel good.  I'll just call it the arians-palmer effect

The Colts

What a game that was. We saw some vintage andrew luck sandwiched between this new Luck that I never thought existed. Howevr, anyone who wants to blame him for the dumpster fire that is the colts needs to look at that oline and defence. Sure he has been anything but good this year but the surrounding factors such as the play calling are as much to blame as Mr. Luck is. The reality is so many good to great quarterbacks have rough years. Phillip Rivers, Eli Manning and Joe Flacco just to name a few. Dont forget Peyton (save a few moments this year), the point is this happens to most qbs. I have to admit I never thought this would happen to luck but I also thought he was a football god. Maybe I crowned him too early but the whole team is to blame here not just the embattled quarterback

Seattles love affair with the refs

First Detroit, then too many men on the field, as well as two timeouts in a row. Usually when the refs help a team they try and be discreet. But this whole give seattle the benefit of the doubt thing is getting out of hand. Their a shitty team who isnt good this year plain and simple. The officials need to get their shit together not just in a seattle game but in all the games too many official mistakes this year. I now its not easy but theres a reason we have common sense and replay. Sort this shit out.

Lions defence is terrible

Three rushing tds in the first half, Alex Smith looking like Mike Vick and charcandrick or however the fuck you spell it looks like the second coming of jamal charles. I know the offence hasnt been great but this defence is putrid, wide open lanes for running and putrid coverage. Any team who gives up this many yards and tds to an average backfield has an intensity problem. Sure their not that talented (espically without deandre levy) but you gotta just bare down and play with some fucking pride. Detroit looks like its on its way to a lost season and some serious changes need to be made (Jim Caldwell).

Jason Pierre-Paul

I love this guy. Blows his hand to pieces, faces a long recovery but just says "fuck it cut that shit off". He goes all Ronny Lott and only misses half a season. To top it off he thinks missing two fingers is not going to effect him. Sure lighting M80's in your hand is an all-time dumb move but you gotta love the hustle getting back. Not to mention this guy is just going around telling everyone its not going to effect him. I love the confidence but its gonna fuckin effect you, come one man. Anyways this guy is just way too talented to not stick in the league for a while. His days of dominating are over but I can see him being a borderline starter/ great backup for at least the next few years. Cant knock the hustle with this guy.

Josh Norman

Cant say enough about this guy. Guy was average for nearly his whole career and then something just clicked for him. After he fought Cam Newton, he just went off. He's got great size, shuts down the other teams best receiver in man coverage and has great big play ability. This guy is a huge reason why a seemingly average panthers team is undefeated. Oh and did i mention he has 4 picks and 2 tds, thats some ed reed shit right there. This guy is quietly acesending to the top tier of corners and all he wants is more targets from opposing teams, i wouldnt count on it bud.

The Cardinals Backfield Problem?

Ok so maybe the title is a little decieving. What I meant was the cards have the best backfield problem they have ever had since I became a fan (2005). This is a team that has always struggled with running back whether its been marcel shipp or jj arrington. Even when we did have good backs (emmitt smith and edge james) the oline was too shitty to get any push. Fastforward to this year and we have two starters (cj2k and ellington) and a rookie with starter potential (david johnson). The only problem is getting these guys enough touches. Its always great when you have to go out of your way to get a guy involved which is exactly what Bruce said about ellington this week. Chris Johnson has been soo good that its been tough to include a guy averaging 7.6 yards a carry! Not to mention keep a guy who is a virtual touchdown machine included. Come december this is going to be very beneficial in cold weather games. Its a great problem to have and I look forward to seeing the differ...

Adrian Peterson

Can we talk about how wierd this story is? So the media seems to love the version where AP swallows his chew but he claims that he is allergic to shellfish but eats shrimp anyways. Hmmm.....either way this is fucking hilarious. I dont chew but isnt not swallowing that shit day one stuff. Furthermore, if he didnt miss the game then who the fuck cares! You've got these PC kninghts coming out of left field (im looking at you mike freeman of bleacherreport) acting like A. this doesnt happen and B. The NFL should ban it because it causes cancer. Look im all for safety and all that bullshit but when you tell grown men what they can and cannot do and the substance in question is legal thats where you lost me. Dude is 30 if he wants to get cancer let him. The other side of this story is just as funny. Bud your allergic to shrimp maybe dont eat it. I dont know about you guys but shrimp to me is good but masively overatted. Sure as hell isnt good enough to risk blowing up like a ballon and b...

Greg Hardy

This one is tricky, I mean we all know the guy is a scumbag. But ask yourself this: if tom brady did the same thing would we care? I gonna go with a big nope here. Another layer of this could be the fact that the cowboys arent winning, which we all know makes every mistake seem bigger then it is. I digress. I have no problem with this kind of intensity at all, it shows passion. The cowboys need to be angry and need to challenge each other in order to get out of this skid. Say what you want but Greg Hardy and Dez Bryant are two passionate mutherfuckers who hate losing. Unfortunately this is 2015 and if it looks like someone is getting their feelings hurt then we need to overanalyze it and come to the conclusion that it is not acceptable. Get the fuck out of here with that. I want my football players to be fired up. If your team doesnt have these kind of exchanges (which they all do) then chances are theyre shit. Sports is intensity people, this shit should be welcomed

Miami Dolphins

Holy shit what a game. Its hard to believe that this is the same team we saw in london a few weeks back. It just goes to show you how terrible Joe Philibin was at motivating his players. Im not going to downplay the job that dan campbell has done. The guy obviously knows this team well and knew exactly what needed to be done to get the players to play up to their potential. I mean the difference is staggering. They made no significant personelle changes, yet the teams performance is night and day. This is a great combination of culture change and physicality for this team. Dan Campbell scrapped the plan and esentially started from scratch. A commitment to physicality on both offence and defence is the main catalyst here. A commitment to simplifying the game (running the fuckin ball for a change) and putting players in position to win (unleashing that feared dline) has the dolphins back on track ahead of an important game against the patriots.

Chris Ivory

What a start to the year by the D2 product. He might not be the best running back in the league like Brandon Marshall seems to think but over a hundred yard a game is no small deal. Add in the fact that he plays behind an average offensive line and you have a real revelation for the 4-1 Jets. The kid could always run. Anyone who remembers those old saints teams, where they use like eight running backs a little bit of the time knows that this kid flashed. The jets gave him an opportunity last year and he didnt disappoint. But this year he is taking his game to the next level, adding some burst to his signature power. The Jets and Ivory look they are going to be the surprise team of the year (at least so far).

Doug Martin

Its good to see flashes of the doug martin we knew this year. Kid had an explosive rookie year and looked like he was going to be a top running back for a long time. Flash forward three years, some ineffectiveness (to be fair team wasnt exactly great) and a couple injuries and hes back. Anyways Im happy for doug yata yata yata....but has anyone ever been so greatful about a nickname? Like holy fuck dude most nfl players dont even get nicknames. You got one of the coolest (muscle hamster) and you have the audacity to complain. Like he legitmately is angry when you call him that, quit bitching and own it, you earned that shit. Anyways the reason I'm talking about this is because he gave himself a new nickname today. In possibly the gayest move ever (yup im going to use gay like it means stupid because thats the shit I grew up with) he deemed himself dougernaut, worst nickname ever. Anyways your lucky your good again doug because you were coming off as not only ungreatful but washed. ...

The Colts fake punt

ahahahah, holy fuck was that shit terrible. Like..I cant even....wow! Anyways lets break it down. you've got a longest yard shift going with all of the blockers moving across the formation. Fair enough, i thought they were gonna try that screen pass that only works in movies. The timing seemed wrong but fuck it the colts needed some magic. One problem, just a completely illegal formation, the fact that a coach at the NFL level didnt check the legality of a play that no one ever tries is baffling. Anyways back to the play. We've got Griff Whalen (a reciever) at center and then you have a safety at quarterback....just, no words. ON top of all of this you dont even run the play correctly, like whats the plan here Pagano? Oh a quarterback sneak with one blocker (without a center or a quarterback) should have known. The worst display of football since the buttfumble....fire Pagano (just wait until after the season to do so)

Phillip Rivers is breaking records and no one cares

Okay so the Chargers are a disappointing 2-4 but godamn does phillip rivers look good. Ive always been a casual admirer of the chargers and rivers but even I had no idea this guy is on pace to break both Peyton manning's yardage record and Drew Brees completion record. This isnt just a scenario where the chargers are out of the game and they are throwing every play, the majority of these numbers are in games that go down to the wire (steelers and packers). Rivers could easily be 4-2 if not for a couple of heartbreaking plays. Just imagine how much the media would be on his dick if they actually had a winning record. Instead, we have a potential record breaking season that no one gives two fucks about. All Im going to say is dont sleep on the chargers youll regret it

Cardinals got their ass kicked

I never thought I would be in position as a cards fan to complain about something as trivial as one loss. Espically with a 1 and a half game lead in the division but here we are. We got beat by Mike Vick and Landry Jones. Thats right, the same landry jones that could barely complete a pass in the preseason. I hope the guy just turns out to be a hidden gem because that is not a good look for our outstanding secondary. Credit where credit is due: the steelers A. stopped the run and B. Martavis Bryant is really fucking good. Like that guy almost single handely won them the game. Im just hoping it was Bryant and not Jones who beat us.....Palmer had a rare off game (espically early) the numbers dont speak to just how much he struggled with some very easy throws. Top it off with shades of old Palmer (forcing the ball to john brown in the endzone) and this was a come back to earth moment for Palmer and his crusade towards an MVP. This game was a good wake up call for a team that responds well...

Tennessee Titans

One of the most ridculous stories of the year that just seems to feed the unstoppable force that is the pussification of our culture is the Titans. Complaining about a football game being to physical is the most pathetic thing I have ever heard. Seriously guys, I know you got handled by a struggling dolphins team and mariota got hurt but complaining is just pathetic. the thing that scares me the most is fucking Goddell will probably penalize the phins for this. It just plays into the terrible social commentary that football shouldn't be played hard and anytime someone is injured a new rule is made. We need to stop the this pathetic trend and it starts with you Tennessee. Lose with some fucking class!

Miami hit on Marcus Mariota

Im gonna call this one a draw. I honestly could not tell by looking at the tape whether or not that was dirty. One time I watch it and it looks like Vernon lowers his head and keeps running through his knee. The next it looks like momentum is carrying him into the qb. Its a tough one folks, so im going with a draw

Odell Beckham Jr.

First things first this guy is a hell of a player and one of the better athletes in the nfl but holy shit is he a punk bitch. When I say punk I mean him just casually punching anybody who plays physical with him (buffalo) and by bitch I mean complaining about your teamates making fun of you or saying that a team is "targeting you" like your godamn Bin Laden. No shit their targeting you, your kind of the number one reciever....in the words of John Mulaney "your going to have to get used to that". This kid is such a fucking loser. Like get a grip dude, youre a football player youre going to get hit and if your fucking really good (which he is) teams are going to try to stop you. Unfortunately for Beckham hes really shown his hand here. Just send out a player to get on his nerves. Not saying this stops him (far from it) but if you can hit him hard and play physical with him theres a chance that the OBJ of week 1 shows up (one big hit to never be heard from again).

Colin Kaepernick

Where do I even start with this guy....lets just put aside his meotoric fall from grace, his stupid fuckin headphones and his douchey demeanour and talk about the latest in a series of gaffes. This dude, a quarterback no less, says he is not big on mechanics. Holy fuck guys, the only explanation here is he has no idea what mechanics are right? That is the equivalent to a three point shooter saying he isnt big on jump shooting. Mechanics are not how someone throws the ball Mr. Kaepernick they are important things like setting your feet before you throw (wink, wink, nudge, nudge). I know what your thinking "cards homer trashing a rival" and to a certain extent youre right but come on. If that is not one of the most idiotic statements a quarterback has made then I might be going crazy. Anyways you better become a mechanics guy soon Colin or else you could be out of a job

Todd Gurley

The guy is the next adrian peterson plain and simple. I have watched three rams games this season, two of which I saw the immense talent of this cant miss prospect. First some context, the rams have no offensive line, foles is inconsistent and their only consistent threat has been tavon Austin. SO basically teams have been putting eight in the box and this kid has been flourishing. He consistently makes something out of nothing, often breaking numerous tackles behind the line on his way to a four yard gain. Hes the complete package: big, strong, can handle 25 plus carries and holy fuck is this dude fast. Case in point is this ridiculous run against the packers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xj-aKBHK8m4. This love child of adrian peterson and marshawn lynch is going to be giving me nightmares for the next ten years. Cards fans beware......

EJ Manuel

Im not a big bills guy but I feel the need to quash a popular misconception. EJ Manuel is not that bad. Yup I know bills fan, hes a bust cant win the starting job.....yada yada. Anyways has there ever been a shorter leash for a first rounder, I dont think so. If your going to use the sixteenth overall pick on a guy, you have to give him at the very least a year and a half as the unquestioned starter to see what you have, you owe yourself that. This just speaks to a bigger issue with high draft picks, specifically quarterbacks. Remeber the days of aaron rodgers and carson palmer where it was actually common to let a qb learn a bit from the sidelines. Then the Flacco, ryan draft happened and every rookie had to be good right away or else they were gone in two years or less. In the days of simplified college offences I think teams would be doing themselves a disservice to force these guys into action. Anyways, Im not saying he shouldve have won the job (Taylor has proven his worth) but do...

Will Grier

This usually reserved for nfl pieces....however every once in a while a story comes out that I just have to address. How obnoxious is NCAA, just overeacting whenever anything goes wrong. I mean I get the fact that PED's are kind of a big deal but a year suspension seemse like a little much, no? Like just hand the guy four games and be done with it. How can a rule vary so much from one level of football to the next, not to mention there are only twelve games, so you are looking at a third of the season. But no classic NCAA just shitting on everybodys parade. Seriously are athletes allowed to anything nowadays with the NCAA all up in their shit? Biggest crook organization in sports and its not even close

Larry Fitzgerald

My favorite thing about people who dont watch cardinals games is their take on larry fitzgerald (up until this year). The best complaints are he doesnt get the ball enough or he is not the same reciever he used to be. Anyone who actually watches the games know that A. we have had a revolving door at qb and B. He has been the best reciever on the field for us since i dont know....2000 and fucking 3. Anytime palmer has been healthy hes had great numbers, so get the fuck out of here with that shit. Anyways Im just glad the man is putting up huge numbers, leaving the haters to jump back on a bandwagon they had no sense jumping off of in the first place. Right now only julio and keenan allen have been more dominant.

Arizona Cardinals

They just look like the real deal dont they? I mean I dont want to come off as a homer (they are my favourite team) but they are just trouncing teams right now. I know their schedule has been a bit soft but they arent just winning games they are destroying the other teams to a point where I feel sorry for them. I know the rams showed up and beat us but they are always a tough out. i mean lets face it the NFC West has been beating up on each other for the last three years. It doesnt matter what the records coming into the game, you can always expect a dog fight (save for san fran this year). I wont say the cards are the best team in the league but they are definitely top 5, as long as palmer is healthy.....in Arians we trust

Atlanta: Vick Beasley

Big reach, the kid can play but you have to be concerned about his size. However, if Dan Quinn is half as good as weve heard he will put this kid in a position to suceed. Its a gamble but if anyone can get the most out of the kid its Dan Quinn.

Chicago Bears: Kevin White

A special talent who replaces Brandon Marshall. The combination of himself and Alshon Jeffery will be a nightmare for opponents to cover. Love the pick, they had to get one of the top wideouts with Marshalls exit.

New York Jets: Leonard Williams

Um.......Snacks Harrison, Wilkerson and Richardson....did I miss something. This is a team with serious needs and they pick for a position that is one of their only stregnths? This is so Rex Ryan it hurts. Lets face it the Jets are stuck in defensive coach purgatory

Washington: Brandon Schreff

With Leonard Williams on the clock, I dont get it. However they did have a large need along the oline. This is a classic case of best player available and need, its safe to say that need one this battle. He is going to be solid but I see Williams as special, someone is going to get a steal.

Oakland Raiders: Amari Cooper

This kid is special. The only other reciever who put up gaudy numbers under Saban is Julio Jones and we know how that turned out. This kid will make a splash instantly and Derrick Carr will prove that if you give him a weapon that is versatile and dominate he will flourish

Jaguars: Dante Fowler

Perfect fit for this defence. The kid will make a splash right away after playing multiple positions in a tough division. Hes that hybrid that Gus Bradely needs for his defence to run, maybe this can spark something in jacksonsville. Great pick

Titans: Marcus Mariota

Great pick, Im glad they stood pat and got their quarterback. They are in a great position, start Mettenberger and if he is any good then his trade value goes up. They need to sit Mariota for at least half a year or else he wont be ready. However if they play this thing just right, they might have the first franchise qb since steve mcnair

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jameis Winston

No surprise here. I cant say I'm a fan of the kid, too many turnovers and hes kind of a dick. However, if your tampa you just have to do it. You need a pro-style quarterback and the kids a winner. I dont like him but he very well could flourish. Only time will tell.

Philip Rivers

As most of you know I am a huge cards fan but what you didnt know is I love me some Bolts. Ever since I started watching football and simultaneously started loving the Chargers, there has been one constant (aside from the 05 season): Philip Rivers. Rivers is essentially the one player who has been on every team that I love regardless of sport since I first started being a sports fan. Everyone else has come and gone but by god mister Rivers has been there. He's had one hell of a career to bat, we havent had the most success but his play has constantly kept us in contention. This is why this next proclamation is a fucking doozie: we have to trade him. The Chargers are an unsettled franchise with rumours seemingly every year that we are moving somewhere, we cant even fill the fuckin stadium when we are good. Philip is an older guy who wants some stability (As all old guys do) and I cant really blame him he has been damn loyal to the blue and gold. He has essentially made it clear that...

Arizona Cardinals Needs for the Upcoming Draft

1. edge rusher/ overall linebacker help: Despite some Cardnials esque veteran signings (1 year deals), there is still a need to draft one or two young linebackers for help. The Cards love to rotate personell and in the is passing league you can never have too many pass rushers. 2. Cornerback depth: the lose of Cromartie leaves a hole opposite PP that needs filling. My hope is Jerraud Powers or Justin Bethel can step up and fill the need. However there is still a need to gain some depth behind these guys even if Tyrann Mathieu can be moved all over the field 3. Power back: Andre Ellington is capable of being a feature back, he was just hammered with injuries last year. However, in this day and age of the NFL, two or more capable backs are required. I would love to see them pick up someone like Todd Gurley, Tevin Coleman or Jay Ajayi.

Ryan Tannehill

I don't know if its NFL.com's obsessive hate for the Dolphins, Mike Wallace obsession or over analysis but I have news for you guys Ryan Tannehill can fuckin play. Last I checked every starting quarterback does not need to be good at every part of the game to be considered great. His numbers and improvement speak for themselves, so what if he doesnt throw the deep ball well (yet). Alex Smith cant throw the deep ball, people love him, Peyton and Brady dont throw the deep ball much, does that make them bad qbs? The man has been playing quarterback shorter then any other starting qb in the league. How many quarterbacks improve every year they are the league? espically in the early years? Anyways if Andy Dalton and that shit stick squidward-looking fuck can get big contracts, why cant an ascending player with limited weapons and a make shift oline? Anyways if someone has some real criticism of Tannehill other then the played out NFL.com witch hunt bullshit, speak now or forever hol...

Adrian Peterson

Trade this man. We can do that stupid shit where the player and team have a standoff and nobody wins or we can check the egos at the door and make both sides happy. The vikes have showed that they can exist without A.P. keep building around bridgewater, take a first or second rounder from the Cards and go about your day. Am I the only one that thinks this is dumb as fuck. Even Steven A. Smith agrees they should part ways. P.S. this is also from a bias Cards fan so take with a grain of salt......unless you have a brain that is

Mike Wallace trade

Dumb, dumb and dumb. Not sure what the phins were thinking with this move. Usually when you do something like this it is contract oriented. But the team ate 6.6 million dollars to aquire a sixtyh round pick, thats awful. As someone who watched every phins game last year I can honestly say he was one of their best weapons. At that point you are stuck with a contract for a while, I just dont understand why Miami would screw this up espically with Tannehill turning the corner. Continuity miami, continuity. P.S. I hope Kenny Stills can play

Winners and Losers of Free agency thus far

Winners Arizona Cardinals: Steve Kiem and Bruce Arians have this great system where they draft well and add proven veterans on short contracts so they are always playing like it is a contract year. Not to mention they made a splash getting Iupati from San Fran, also they just signed Corey Redding to go along with Sean Weatherspoon and Lamar Woodely St. Louis: Getting Nick Foles and major cap flexibility was a great move for this team. Even if Bradford can stay healthy, a change of scenery was needed for both sides. I love this pickup, the rams have enough talent that if Foles can play even as well as he did last year you are looking at a competitive team, also the draft picks help Seattle: Getting Jimmy Graham is huge for that passing game, sure the price tag was big but they filled an immediate need while giving up a great player (Unger) who was injured for most of their superbowl run. Essentially it is just a low first rounder for the second best tight end in the league. They s...

Jake Locker

More bizarre shit today. jake Locker has retired after four years in the league. I know hes been injured but this kid has every tool to at least stick as a backup. I guess injuries really suck the desire out of football for some people. I will always be team Locker. Your raw white man athleticism will be missed Jake.

Wierd shit in the NFL continues

Bradford-Foles: Cant remember the last time two teams swapped starting qbs. Love it for the Rams, Chip Kelly needs to be fucking fired for things hes done to that poor philly franchise. This isn't college ball man, learn to deal with player egos, especially good players Nagata to the lions: not sure what the ravens really get out of this but love the move for Detriot. Solid quick fix for losing Suh and potentially Fariley. Brace yourselves NFL fans shit is going to get weirder and weirder, Im just along for the ride (the cards are murdering the offseason FYI)

God Damn it Seattle

Jimmy Graham on the move was the most surprising thing I have seen all day. The Saints seem content on moving into kind of a strange half rebuild mode. Though I cant really blame them here Unger is a pro bowl center and bringing in a first round pick is no small feat. Just kind of a blindside if you ask me. Not to mention if this pays off seattle gets scarier

Top Wr's

1. Amari Cooper: What is not to like about Amari Cooper? I dont think there is a safer bet in the entire draft then this kid. Does everything well but too often gets stereotyped under the "safe so therefore not explosive label". He will make people eat their words 2. Kevin White: Love this kid. Very productive and explosive. Capable of taking over a game and has everything you look for in a size-speed-hands guy. If this kid can learn how to run NFL routes and read the defence in zone coverage, he could be better pro then Cooper. 3. Devante Parker: Could be the number 1 receiver in many other draft classes. Runs great routes, very productive, big and fast. Amazing hands and can win the one on one battle. Needs to refine route running and hopefully he can hold up physically 4. Dorial Beckham-Green: I mean wow, if this kid has his head on straight then he very much has Randy Moss-like skill. However I still have a lot of reservations for this kid. Hes been out of football ...

Top 3 Qb's for the draft

1. Marcus Mariota: at this point I have just completely bought in, though this ranking is based on two things: 1. a teams willingness to be patient (sit him at least half the year) or 2. commit to moulding their offence to his strengths similar to what Seattle and Carolina did when they drafted Cam and Wilson 2. Jameis Winston: Im not going to lie, I think Jameis will be a bust: his windup is too long, hes an idiot off the field and he had way too many turnovers on arguably the best all-around team in college football. That being said he is the top pro style quarterback in a class filled with dual threat and spread qbs 3. Brett Hundely: Ill drink the kool-aid, just last year we were talking about this kid being a top ten pick. Not much has changed (accept for over-analysis). Here are the facts: he has an NFL arm, accuracy you can work with, is a high character guy and has plus athleticism and athletic ability. However, he needs time to develop. If the team that drafts him can bring...

Top 5 rbs in the draft

1. Todd Gurley: best prospect since A.P. if the knee can holdup he is definitely worth a first round pick 2. Melvin Gordon: excellent production, good burst, reminds me a bit of Jamal Charles. Is he another product of Wisconsin's great blocking scheme (Montee Ball) or is he the real deal. Im going to go with the latter. His record breaking game will tell you that. 3. Ameer Abdullah: another back with great production. Deceptively quick and can do it all, the only thing that concerns me is his size 4. Duke Johnson: maybe my favorite running back. Incredibly explosive, versatile and productive (never averaged under 6 yards a carry). The only thing holding him back is his durability. However if he is put in a platoon and used similar to Gio Bernard then you could be looking at a star and potential steal 5. Tevin Coleman: The true definition of a workhorse. Love his burst and durability, i think he will be a high floor, low cieling guy. Hopefully he is more Le'veon Bell the...
