EJ Manuel

Im not a big bills guy but I feel the need to quash a popular misconception. EJ Manuel is not that bad. Yup I know bills fan, hes a bust cant win the starting job.....yada yada. Anyways has there ever been a shorter leash for a first rounder, I dont think so. If your going to use the sixteenth overall pick on a guy, you have to give him at the very least a year and a half as the unquestioned starter to see what you have, you owe yourself that. This just speaks to a bigger issue with high draft picks, specifically quarterbacks. Remeber the days of aaron rodgers and carson palmer where it was actually common to let a qb learn a bit from the sidelines. Then the Flacco, ryan draft happened and every rookie had to be good right away or else they were gone in two years or less. In the days of simplified college offences I think teams would be doing themselves a disservice to force these guys into action. Anyways, Im not saying he shouldve have won the job (Taylor has proven his worth) but dont be surprised if he showed up in a big way. Just ask the steelers, the kid has some fucking talent.

The man, the myth, the legend. A fixture of professional sports for the last 20 years. Tom Brady seemed destine to ride off into the sunset on a half functional body and a relatively intact brain, donning a Patriots jersey. It seems that the ancient quarterback and his morally inept team had something else in mind. Brady met with Belicheck and thats that, no progress, no give and take. It seemed like a rather Belicheckian end to a 20 year long domination tour. The coach, of course, is known as an analytical decision maker who rather cut a player too early than too late. The XFL rule that the NFL must adopt

The XFL has burst onto the scene. By burst I mean the league has yet to fold. In all seriousness, as a football fan I am just happy there is semi-coherent football being played. Sure quarterback play isn't up to snuff (with the exception of a couple guys) but the XFL is doing something very cool. Other leagues have failed because they try and emulate or compete with the NFL. The XFL had basically filled a need (spring football) and provided enough wild concepts to keep your average fan somewhat interested. Honestly thats all football loving degenerates like myself need. The NFL would be wise to check their immense egos and improve their game through a key rule change.  The adoption of the XFL's revolutionary kickoff structure is a must for the league.
