Philip Rivers

As most of you know I am a huge cards fan but what you didnt know is I love me some Bolts. Ever since I started watching football and simultaneously started loving the Chargers, there has been one constant (aside from the 05 season): Philip Rivers. Rivers is essentially the one player who has been on every team that I love regardless of sport since I first started being a sports fan. Everyone else has come and gone but by god mister Rivers has been there. He's had one hell of a career to bat, we havent had the most success but his play has constantly kept us in contention. This is why this next proclamation is a fucking doozie: we have to trade him. The Chargers are an unsettled franchise with rumours seemingly every year that we are moving somewhere, we cant even fill the fuckin stadium when we are good. Philip is an older guy who wants some stability (As all old guys do) and I cant really blame him he has been damn loyal to the blue and gold. He has essentially made it clear that he wants to move on by playing out his contract and we need to adjust accordingly. The brass met with Mariota the other day, which was insane to me not three months ago. However, this is the reality of the situation. We have to get at least a first rounder for this guy and it needs to happen soon or we are going to have franchise armageddon come next offseason. Two first rounders is too much but if tennesse wants to toss us a first and third and we can get Marcus (who I love) then fuck it lets take the plunge. This franchise needs a jolt and a fuckin franchise QB hitting the road might be what the doctor ordered.

The man, the myth, the legend. A fixture of professional sports for the last 20 years. Tom Brady seemed destine to ride off into the sunset on a half functional body and a relatively intact brain, donning a Patriots jersey. It seems that the ancient quarterback and his morally inept team had something else in mind. Brady met with Belicheck and thats that, no progress, no give and take. It seemed like a rather Belicheckian end to a 20 year long domination tour. The coach, of course, is known as an analytical decision maker who rather cut a player too early than too late. Anyone who watched Brady last year saw a noticeable drop in all statistical categories. When you arer 42 years old it is not unreasonable to see a steady decline in production. The XFL rule that the NFL must adopt

The XFL has burst onto the scene. By burst I mean the league has yet to fold. In all seriousness, as a football fan I am just happy there is semi-coherent football being played. Sure quarterback play isn't up to snuff (with the exception of a couple guys) but the XFL is doing something very cool. Other leagues have failed because they try and emulate or compete with the NFL. The XFL had basically filled a need (spring football) and provided enough wild concepts to keep your average fan somewhat interested. Honestly thats all football loving degenerates like myself need. The NFL would be wise to check their immense egos and improve their game through a key rule change.  The adoption of the XFL's revolutionary kickoff structure is a must for the league.
