Marcus Mariota

I know I touched on this in a previous blog somewhere. Or maybe I didnt but that is precisely the point, im cautiously optimistic about marcus mariota right now. The reason I say catiously is because i have been down this road before with mobile option qbs. I was a big RG3, vince young and a number of other mobile qbs fan. As you can see by my examples when I jump on a scrambling qbs' bandwagon shit goes south (accept cam newton, fingers crossed). Anyways, enough of my bullshit supersition, this guy can fuckin spin it. Usually when these guys come out they put up very few yards and are put in position for easy throws and scoring opportunities so the numbers look nice. Mariota still runs a somewhat handcuffed system of option based, oregon football. What sets him apart is his ball placement and accuracy on medium-deep throws. It is well ahead of what rg3 and newtons were in their rookie years. ABove all else, i think this guy is going to be good, i just hope injuries dont do him in. I think he is smart enough to avoid dumb injuries. Hopefully my freak bad luck doesnt ruin it but just mark me down for one foot on the mariota bandwagon.

Teddy Bridgewater: The Panthers decided to turn the page on Cam Newton after another injury- plagued season. The bizarrely haired, hieroglyphic writing QB was due for a change of scenery. Bridgewater, on the other hand, flashed serious skill while Drew Brees was on the shelf. He is still only 27 and could be a very good quarterback for Matt Rhule and co. He is a young qb on a reasonable deal, should be a win-win for both sides. Ryan Tannehill: I know I said I would focus on guys who changed teams, however I would be remiss if I did not address Tanny. The talented quarterback peeked at the right time down the stretch. He tore up the league in the second half of the season throwing 22 tds and 6 picks. In fact he and Derrick Henry almost got the Titans to a superbowl. Tannehill is good but hes not 4 years and 118 million dollars good. I think the Titans will live to regret this decision. Its like Chirstmas

In these times of uncertainty it is rare that we receive any good news. Things appear to be getting more and more grim by the day. The coronavirius is like a freight train forcing quarantines and cancelling sports left and right. No one knows what tomorrow holds and it is a little unsettling. So when one is presented with good news it can be a great change of pace. If you are a Cardinals fan, like myself and three other people outside of Phoenix then yesterday was a glorious day. Deandre Hopkins is a Cardinal, I repeat, possibly the best receiver in the the league is a Cardinal! I know what you are thinking, we probably gave up too much.
