Rapid fire takeaways from week 2 NFC West addition.

Cardinals-Colts: Total snooze fest. By snooze fest I mean lack of scoring because I definitely wasnt snoozing. I was having a near heart attack until we mounted that comeback. The Colts stink and we let them hang around just a little too long. The run game was inconsistent but Chris Johnson did provide a boost. The oline struggled but that was to be expected with Humphries and Iuapati out. Carson looked bad early but made some serious plays in the fourth quarter and OT. JJ Nelson has sneaky been incredible over his last few games. He has a td in seven consecutive games and 9 of his last 11. He made the play of the game on a palmer bomb down the field. The defence looked incredible, especially Chandler Jones. The Colts played well for the most part. Their defence bounced back and Brissett looked steady in his first colts start. He did throw a late pick to the Honey Badger but he was solid throughout. Frank Gore was the usual thorn in our side. Not a pretty win but one we needed badly

Rams-Redskins: Jared Goff continues to make big strides. His weapons showed up for him with Gerald Everrett and Todd Gurley breaking out for huge games. Gurley flashed the talent we all knew he had turning in a great all around game. Robert Woods cost the rams big time with stupid penalties and a dropped pass in the endzone. The defence was gashed by the running game in the first half but seem to level out in the second half and limit the skins. The rams were in it until the end. Goff made a terrible throw to end the game but that was the only blemish in another solid performance. Washington looked more like the team we expected to see. The run game excelled in the first half and Kirk Cousins was able to make the quick reads he is accustomed to. He is still getting on the same page with Pryor but he once again flashed his talent. Their defence is what we expected, an average unit capable of making big plays.
