Rapid Fire from week 1 part 3
Bears-Falcons: Chicago looks surprisingly competent. Mike Glennon is no world beater but he looked the part of a very competent starter. Tarik Cohen is an absolute stud. Every play he touched the ball was absolutely electric. Theres a reason they call him the human joy stick. What surprised me the most was the bears defence. The front seven is no joke and kept Devonta Freeman in check for the majority of the game. The Falcons started slow but appeared to round into form late. The offence shook off the rust and just did just enough to win. The defence really struggled with tackling and Desmond Trufant was exposed multiple times. Two things to keep an eye on.
Cowboys-Giants: The Cowboys came to play. Zeke and Dak picked up where they left off and controlled the game on offence. On defence the new look secondary really surprised. Anthony Brown is a name to watch as he only allowed a single reception all game. Janoris Jenkins shut down Dez but the Boys are so loaded they exploited that awesome defence in other ways. Eli was being a pussy, theres no way around it. He rarely threw down field and just dumped the ball off to Vereen. Sure his oline sucks but this is gun slinger eli were talking about here. Maybe find Brandon Marshall more then once? The run game is still a total mess for the G-men and the offence hasn't scored more then 20 points in their last six games...let that sink in.
Redskins-Eagles: The Carson Wentz project continues to be a major success. His new weapons on offence will only elevate his game. The defence played a great game of bend, dont break shutting down the skins for the most part. This team is loaded almost everywhere and will be a team to watch throughout the season. Kirk Cousins misses Sean Mcvay, badly if this game is any indication. Jamison Crowder and Fat Rob were shut down and the offence couldnt find a groove. The lone bright spot was Terrell Pryor, he and Kirk Cousins were really clicking throughout. Keep a close eye on Captain Kirk, he might have made a huge mistake turning down that big contract.
Bengals-Ravens: Andy Dalton threw 4 picks....need I say more. The Ravens tried not to lose and ran the ball a thousand times. Keep an eye on Joe Flaccos health moving foward. Oh yeah, the Bengals oline sucks.
