Broncos could be in trouble

Von Miller is expected to get the franchise tag. This is not the news that broncos fans are looking for, however. The news all offseason was that he would become the highest paid defensive player in the league. Obviously, things didn't work out and now the team is in a bind. They want Malik Jackson and Brock Oswieler back but the numbers just haven't been there. Jackson is also looking for a mega deal worth up to 75 million and he will probably get it. Unfortunately, the broncos probably wont be able to meet his demands. As far as Brock goes, things have been weird. They refuse to talk to him until Peyton Manning makes a decision on retirement. The future is now and the team needs to make this decision. Manning is no longer a viable option period. Brock proved he's ready to take over the job and Elway and co needs to pull the trigger. The negotiations could be tricky, however. The market for QB's combined with his inexperience and obvious talent will make a reasonable c...

SackorPick

Oh Kaepernick, you really are a piece of work. This guy got literally the best news ever when this team hired Chip Kelly. He was born to run this offence. Instead he doesn't think he can beat out Blaine Gabbert and is demanding a trade. I mean you look around the league and there are not many teams who run the system he excels in, can take on his salary or would hand him the starting job. He is literally committing career suicide. Instead of pouting and demanding shit why don't you figure out how to read a defence for a change. This is why you earned the name Colin SackorPick.....or maybe it has something to do with his play.

Interesting news

The rams seem very content to ride or die with Case Keenum. There are a coupe factors to consider, however. It is the time of year where teams are constantly using the media to manipulate public opnion. Also, Keenum went 3-1 this year but his stats left a lot to be desired. The problem here is that the rams honestly believe they can be a playoff team without relying on the qb. The GM even said that this was just one of the many reasons they did not make the playoffs (but not the biggest one). If I am a rams fan, I am just a little bit concerned. However, there is way too much qb talent in this draft for them to turn the opportunity to draft a Lynch, Goff or Wentz if they are still there. Only time will tell...

Let the Ladies Brawl

As you may have heard Dante Fowler was involved in some crazy shit the other day. A fight between his baby mama and girlfriend occurred and was caught on tape. Now, everyone wants to focus on the negatives but lets break down the positives. First of all, he just stood by and let them duke it out. In the age of (what appears to be) an increase in domestic violence, it was refreshing to see a guy back off and let the ladies fight. Furthermore, this should be seen as a teaching point for all the ladies out there. Fuck gossip, fuck mind games, fight it out like men. To his credit, fowler even broke up the fight when things got out of hand. They then left. I'm not going to lie, probably one of the funniest videos I've seen. Just fuckin brawling it out for under a minute and then they are done. The NFL will undoubtedly make a huge deal out of this shit. However, I thought Fowler did the right thing considering the circumstances. What was he supposed to do? Run away and let them kill ...

Shots Fired

Gotta love Evan Mathis coming out of nowhere and punching Chip Kelly right in the nuts. Guy sends an unprovoked email to the media ripping his coach to shreds and I have to say, it makes a ton of sense. He basically said that Chip is an egomaniacal moron who cant handle the big personalities. When you think about his track record for dumping blue chip players, you have to wonder. Desean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Lesean MCcoy and of course Evan Mathis. All great players with large personalities. More often then not you are going to get flamboyant guys in football, its just a fact. We see it time and again with college coaches who come to the NFL (Schiano, Saban and Harbaugh), the mentality is different. In college you have kids who need guidance and structure, they are unpaid and doing it for the love of the game. This is still true at the NFL level but guys make a shit ton of money and many have pull within the organization. The switch from drill sergeant to player manager is a tough one...

Fuck Goddell?

There is a popular sentiment going around and it has been for sometime. The knack for blaming Roger Goddell for anything and everything that goes wrong with the league. I myself have been guilty of this a number of times. For those of you who are skeptical consider this, Goddell is employed by the owners to push their agenda and be there voice. This is why he makes upwards of 20 million a year. He is a glorified punching bag who is a high priced errand boy of the owners. When the story broke that the NFL had kept 120 million from the players, the obvious reaction was fuck goddell. I know, I literally did the same thing. But it was not roger who violated the CBA it was the owners. Thats right, your favorite teams owner saw it fit to embezzle millions of dollars that rightfully should have gone to the players. That is some fucked up shit right there. If this cause another fuckin lockout, I will be beside myself. This could have dire consequences. So next time you think of blaming Goddell...

Cap dump

This surprised the shit out of me the other day. Well most of it did. Anyone who watched the rams knew that Jared Cook needed to go. He's one of those guys who always looks good in another uniform. Big, fast and athletic but dumb as a stump and has the worst habit of making key mistakes. Anyways his measurables will assure him a job elsewhere. Chris Long and Laurinitis surpruised the shit out of me. Now this could be one of those situations where they bring these guys back at a reduced rate but there are no indications of that. After last year it was apparent that Chris Long needs to be payed less. He can still play but injury and age dictate that it should be for less money. Laurintisis, on the other hand was a shock. This guy, while not a huge playmaker is one of the most consistent middle linebackers out there. Just constantly getting twenty tackles. I have to believe that at least one of these guys is back. They almost have to bring James back because they do not have a replace...

Put the PEDS down

You guys hear this Nick Boyle thing? Not that he was the best player but his situation is right out of the MLB playbook. Two years and two PEDS suspensions. Keep in mind this is a backup tight end who showed little flashes of production. You have to wonder if this guy would even be on an NFL roster if not for Barry Bond's juice. That had me thinking, there are two categories: guys who take PEDS to stay in the league and guys who take PEDS to become superstars (Bonds and Shawne Merrieman). I would commend him if he were better at hiding it, come on man. Now your out ten games and probably going to get cut, real fuckin smart Nick.

Heath Miller gone

A mainstay and steelers stalwart has decided to hang up the cleats. Heath Miller was the picture of consistency, essentially the best tight end in Pitt for all 11 years. Does it seem like we are losing a lot of guys? because it sure as hell feels that way. Maybe I'm just getting old. Yeah thats it, I'm the oldest 22 year old ever. Either way seeing all of these I grew up watching ride off into the sunset is quite the sobering experience.

Interesting stuff

Interesting new going on in philly. At first glance it looks to be kind of wierd. Pederson has been linked to chace daniel and reportedly said he was more then a backup. Intereting take on a poor man's alex smith. I thought this was just a dumb take by a guy dont think should be a head coach. I thought about it and you know what this under-qualified coach has a point. Bradford wants way too much money, Daniel know the system and he would be a perfect stop gap. However, this is contigent on them actually drafting a qb. You hear stories like this constantly and every once in a while teams actually think these journeyman are the answer. This is how you end up with the ever frusterating qb controversy ala Houston Texans.

Off into the sunset

One of the cooler guys in the NFL has retired after 12 years. Jared Allen retired in the most jared allen way possible, he rode his horse off into the sunset. At his peak he was one of the best pass rushers in the nfl. Combine that with his mullet and off the field antics and you have one of the most interesting characters ever in the NFL. This was a man's man, a guy who would camp out in a tree while he hunted boars with a fuckin arrow. Later Jared, you will be missed P.S. those of you who havent seen the video, its a must watch http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14799393/carolina-panthers-defensive-end-jared-allen-announces-retirement

Stay where you are, don't get greedy

Apprently Doug Martin thinks he's about to win the lottery. Seems kind of wierd for a running back, right? Well the muscle hamster (yes that is your fuckin nickname) had a hell of a year last year. If he was smart he would stay put and help bring tampa back to the playoffs. Unfortunately, he seems to over value his worth. It is tough to blame him after a career year but the reality is he has had one good year out of the last three. He could go to a shitty team for a lot of money or stay in tampa and make a winner. Unfortunately, too many guys pick the former. Not like I fuckin blame them or anything.

Phins need to make the right decision

Just bring him back. Maybe use him a bit more but for fuck sakes, bring him back. Lamar Miller was a curious case all last year. It seemed that whenever the phins actually gave him the ball he exceled. But for some wierd fuckin reason, they never seemed to get him involved enough. He is a complete back with little wear and tear and not enough production to get a ridiculous contract. Combine that with the fact that he is from the Miami area and you have a full blown, hometown discount. However, I feel like Gase needs to make it clear that he will be more involved in the offence. If the coaches track record is any indication, then he will be. Do the right thing phins, bring this dude back (and let vernon walk)

Gone but not forgotten

End of an era in chicago. Mr. Matt Forte will no longer be carrying the rock. This is a classic example of the depreciating running back pool. You've got one of the best offensive players in franchise history reach the age of thirty and just like that hes done. Sure they have langford (who I think will excel) but that is beside the point. The big issue here is I think the bears will live to regret this. Forte has a lot left in the tank and strategic use for a contender could push said team over the top (New England). This is one of those win-win situations. The bears get younger and cheaper and Forte goes somewhere he might win a superbowl. The ideal situation.

Peyton manning situation

Its twenty years old guys. Not to mention it settled out of court. This doesnt take away how ridicolous (and frankly funny) this situation is. But I guess the whole PC crowd wasnt around to attack peyton so it only makes sense that they bring it up now. I mean the guy just won a super bowl, it only makes sense that we cut him out at the knees right? This is very much an example of a smear campaign. People are tired of peyton's seemingly perfect image and they feel the need to bring up one of the only skeletons in his closet so they can feel better about themselves. Kind of weird overall.

Superbowl recap

Better late then never. What a game! I'm so tired of muthafuckas saying how boring this game was. It's not all about offence. As far as 24-10 games go, that was probably the most exciting I've seen. The qb play was trash and the offences were putrid but you cant tell me all of those turnovers and Von Miller's greatness didnt make this an awesome game. Defence still wins championships. It was good to see Manning get one, even though he was shit. Cam is getting a lot of heat right now (rightfully so) but dont think he wont be back. Just remember that one of their best offensive players has been out all year. Congrats to Von Miller to, that guy was an animal. He earned himself the MVP, a huge contract and as many lapdances as man can get

Another one bites the dust

Ok this one isnt as surprising, its more of a what could have been. That is the case with Jon Beason. When healthy, this guy was a true animal. Before Luke Keuchly, he was the linebacker that everyone feared when they played against carolina. He was big, fast and athletic. Unfortunately, the injury bug would not leave him alone. Whenever he was on a roll, a season ending injury  was always around the corner. The fact that he was still a starter in this league, roughly a year ago (and what have been this year if not for injury) just speaks to how tough and productive this guy was. This isnt one of those articles where I say the guy shouldn't have retired. In fact, he picked the best time to go (he was just cut by the giants). So when you think of great panthers linebackers dont forget Mr. Beason

End of an era

I'm a little late to the punch but Marshawn Lynch retired during the superbowl. He did it in the most awesome way possible (as to be expected). A simple twitter post with a pair of hung up cleats. Oh Marshawn, a man of few words. In a weird way, I'm going to miss the guy. He's fuckin hilarious and a hell of a player and I kind of pull for him when he is not disemboweling the cardinals. Hell of a player, who didnt give a fuck about anything but playing football. His legacy will be that ridiculously-hard-to-tackle running back who could give two fucks about anyone not on his team (that includes the hawks front office). His interviews will go down in history. P.S. This offseason is fuckin gutwrenching for any nfl fan of the early-to-mid 2000's. We've lost megatron, beastmode, justin tuck and possibly peyton manning. Fuck man, I was not ready for this

Face the music

Man is Cam Newton trying to make me hate him. First it was the weird race-qb thing and now this. If youre gonna be the loudest winner, you might want to consider being the loudest loser. But I gues acting like a little kid works too. Fuckin guy's acting like hes the only qb to lose a superbowl. Newsflash, every qb has had to talk to the media after losing a superbowl. Brady did it after Eli ripped his heart out and Russell Wilson did it after forcing the ball to a special teamer. Just grow a pair for a change. And the whole chris harris was chirping him thing is classless but you gotta stick around the interview

Idiot Running Back Fights Cops

Here are the facts (or what that one article told me). Lesean Mccoy and another former running back fought three undercover cops and put them in the hospital (one factured his skull). Anyone want to take a wild guess what they were fighting about? It wasn't race (I know a lot of you want it to be), oh no it was over a bottle of champagne. An athlete who makes upwards of 8 mill a year is worried about a bottle of champagne.....seriously. The circumstances were even wierder. Apparently one of the cops picked up a bottle of champagne and then Brinkley (the other running back) tried to take it out of his hands. That right there is a recipe for disaster. One side thinks the cops took their drink and the other is a cop having something stolen from him. Just a wierd situation all-around. This just seems like par for the course when it comes to Mccoy. The famous non-tipper who loves to trash chip kelly (unprovoked) has now graduated to putting cops in the hospital. Thats a reasonable escal...

Super Bowl predicition

It's just a few days away now and goddamn if this isnt going to be a dog fight. The old adage "Defence wins championships" really holds true. Theres a lot to cover so I decided to look at the game matchup by matchup to discover who has the advantage. Peyton vs. the Panthers Defence: This will be one hell of a challenge for Peyton. This defence has proven time and again that they will make your life hell (As a cards fan I know). When you are a one dimensional player it becomes even harder (the lack of a deep ball and negative ability to move around). The key here is for the broncos to design a game-plan that establishes the run, utilizes play action and gets the ball to Thomas and Sanders in space. If they can do this, they might have a chance. advantage: Panthers D Broncos WR's vs. Panthers Secondary: Putting aside the pass rush and Mannings noodle arm, this is an interesting matchup. I think Norman and Thomas kind of cancel each other out. However, I feel li...

Johnny's career is done

Man this guys been flirting with the edge for a while. Look, if you are drinking and partying, thats one thing. A lot of players do that and still show up. If you miss meetings as a backup, thats kind of fucked and you should probably sort it out. You go on a drug-fueled spree where you threaten to kill yourself and beat up your girlfriend, your gone. Look I know we are still at the allegedly faze but just remeber, Greg Hardy was never charged. Mr. Goddell has proven time and agian that an allegation is all that he needs to hang someone out to dry. The fact that a new story about johnny fucking around has seamingly come out every week for the last while, you know the hammer is gonna drop hard. Also, take into account that the same girl accused him once. To top it all off, his own father said he wouldnt make it to 24. This is not good for this kid. I honestly predict a year suspension and what might be a career ender. As I mentioned before, guys who arent qbs might be able to come back ...

Go on, take the money and run

Gotta love Demarco Murray. Guy signs a huge contract with 9 million up front, proceeds to suck and then calls out his coach. To top it all off he has the audacity to try and weazle his way out of philly to go back to dallas. Stop me if this isnt the craziest thing youve heard (well this the nfl, one of the craziest things youve heard). This is a running back who was caught sliding last year, you know the thing that qbs do.....yeah. Murray's always been a slightly above average back who couldnt stay healthy. Dallas oline got really good and then he followed suit. The smart thing would have been to stay but no, he thinks hes worth 8 mill a season. Which is fine, if you get offered that much money obviously take it but you have to know what your getting yourself into. You can't have it both ways Demarco, sack up and improve. P.S. Anyone wanting to blame the oline for his struggles should see Sproles, Darren and Mathews, Ryan

Kaep wants to be a jet

This is so Keapernick it hurts. Not only does he want out of san fran, he knows what team he wants to play for. This fuckin guy. How dumb do you have to be? If there was one offence he was catered to its Chip's. Your gonna throw away a golden opportunity at redemption to go the Jets? A team with a pro style offence and a qb they are going to resign? Come on man. When I first read this, I thought it might be a joke but I guess I underestimated the sure stupidity of Kaep. If the guy had a brain between his ears he would stay in San Fran, rebuild his image and try to be a real qb. If this guy could just read a defence he would be such a weapon, unfortunately he cant. Stay with chip, run the option and make one read, its a fuckin no brainer. P.S. Brandon Marshall saying he didnt want him was priceless. In a way that only Brandon Marshall can. My guess is he actually wanted the ball to get to his hands next year.

Johnny gets what he wants

i can't decide if this guy is incredibly stupid or an evil genius. It has to be the latter right? Even the biggest partyers in NFL history weren't this dumb. The Vegas stunt, not showing up to meetings...this was part of a diabolical plan to get out of the Cleveland. Well mission accomplished dumb shit, your now the alchy qb that no but jerry Jones wants congratulations. The thing about being a qb is you can't act like any other position. You have to a high character cerebral leader period. You're acting like a goddamn diva reciever right now Johnny. You better hope jerry Jones feels like stirring the pot (he probably does) because u might have just played yourself out of the league.

The Probowl

Its an allstar game, its supposed to be a joke. I mean its entertaining as fuck if you love offence. The guys are obviously not going to tackle each other cause no one wants to get hurt. But lets stop pretending its different from every other allstar game. In hockey, its 3 on 3 and you have an enforcer scoring multiple goals....a joke. In the NBA you have centres bringing the ball up and back in the day, shaq taking one handed free throws. It's a chance for the players to cut loose and for the fans to watch half assed because fuck if there is any other football on. I do think they need to add a skills challenge and push it until after the superbowl. So stop whining, you get to see hail marys all game and you have coaches miced up. It was never meant to be anything serious, not sure when everyone forgot that.

Cam is kind of a wierdo

Let me make something clear, I am a Cam guy (as I've probably overstated on this blog). That being said, hes kind of a wierdo....no? That interview with ESPN was one of the most cringeworthy things I've seen in a while. First of all, he backtracked on his claim that people hated him because he was black. Secondly, it shouldnt take ten minutes for you to explain that there is one Cam Newton. Sure he is trailblazer for athletic qbs going to the superbowl and hes having fun doing it, yada, yada. Just wish he would stop talking about his crtics. He is in a unique position where his supporters defend him mercilessly, mostly because he leaves his intensity and flamboyancy on the field. I'm just hoping he doesnt become self aware and turn into some wierdo activist. Let it show on the field, not in the interviews. P.S. What the fuck was he wearing yesterday, That was like some gay Russell Westbrook shit. Links: the interview: http://www.breitbart.com/video/2016/01/31/cam-newton...

Megatron is out

Goddamn it. Fuckin way to early for this guy to be done. It always bothers me when a guy goes out on top of his game. I mean its one thing when you do that at 35 but 30? Come on man. Its gotta be the lions right? Barry did the same thing. That goddamn curse of Bobby Lane is just destroying this franchise. Credit where credit is due. Megatron is one of the best recievers I've ever seen and from a physical standpoint hes in the same class as Randy Moss. I guess this is the end of one of my favorite all-time recievers. I hope to god he reconsiders, the NFL would not be the same without him.
