NFL Recap week 8 part 1

Browns-Vikings: They almost had, it was within their reach. In fact the Browns actually lead at one point in the game. Deshone Kizer looked serviceable, the running backs were excelling and the defence was keeping world beater Case Keenum at bay (note the sarcasm on that last point). Then the second half started and cleveland did what they do best, lose. Adam Theilen and Jerick Mckinnon got hot and the rest is history. the Browns are now 1-23 in their last twenty four games. Jesus, I dont think any team in the history of this sport has been that bad. This includes those shitty Tampa teams back in the day.

Bills-Raiders: The bills are for real. The defence is dominate and the offence just pounds the rock. Sean Mcdermott is doing what Rex Ryan wanted to do, except better. The offence runs the shit out of the ball and the defence shuts the other team down. This combined with an ungodly amount of turnovers has the Bills looking like one hell of a team. The Raiders are lost. They played sloppy ball once again. They had a number of fumbles and a costly derrick carr pick. The offensvie line hasn't been the same and the defence has been shaky thus far. Derrick Carr can only do so much on his own. What was once a potential super bowl contender, looks like a team not worthy of the playoffs.

Colts-Bengals: This was an excellent game. Jacoby Brissett continues to thrive, considering the circumstances. His line does him no favours and his receivers are inconsistent at best. However, this doesn't stop the kid from continuously putting this team in position to win. Save The Carlos Dunlap pick six, this is another great showing. The colts running game has been surprisingly consistent as Frank Gore and Marlon Mack look like an excellent duo. On the Bengals side of things, this is a maddeningly inconsistent team. On paper, all of the talent is there. This is an offence flushed with weapons and a defence with some big names. They just continue to play sloppy football week in and week out. Of course the elephant in the room is the atrocious oline. You have three starting running backs on your team and not one of them can average 4 yards a carry. This is how you know the problem is bigger then the runners. Still though, a win is a win and Cincy needed it

Chargers-Pats: The Chargers had every chance to win this game. I would argue one key play sunk them yesterday. Travis Benjamin's inexplicable decision to take a punt return ten yards back into the end zone was it. This caused a safety and allowed the Pats to dominate the ball for the rest of the first half. Melvin Gordon had himself a game and the Chargers were in it until the end. The Pats however, meticulously ran the clock with their versatile running backs excelling in both the passing and running games. Just another notch on TB12's belt.

Bears-Saints: The bears had this game. The defence kept Brees in check in the red zone and the offence was churning the clock with numerous runs in a row. John Fox's wet dream was coming true. Then came the Miller play. Zach Miller caught a perfectly thrown td pass, snapped his leg in two pieces and maintained possession of the the ball. This would have brought the Bears to within one. Instead the officials decided they were Saints fans and called it an incompletion. This begs the age old question: what is a catch? who knows at this point. Saints win on a last second pick from Trubisky.

Atlanta-Jets: has anyone told the Jets they are supposed to be tanking. Josh Mcown is out hear completing 90 percent of his passes in what seems like every week. Robbie Anderson just emerged out of nowhere and what is an awful team, remains competitive. This is especially strange when the teams running game is brutal. The Falcons desperately wanted to lose this game. In classic Atlanta fashion they played very well for 75% of the game. Matt Ryan looked sharp when he wasnt dropping snaps from his centre. Julio was Julio and the best running back tandem in the league was pulling their weight. Then came the fourth quarter. The Falcons tried so hard not to lose that they almost did. I think they punted the ball to the Jets nine times up by five. Lucky the other team has no talent. The falcons squeeze this one out.
