Kirk Cousins situation


This is proof that Dan Snyder is the human embodiment of cancer. For the first time in a while the redskins have a decent quarterback. Hell, they even fielded a competitive team the last two years. What do they do to reward the face of the franchise, refuse to pay him long term. Now if the team had a reputation of being fickle then this would at least make a little sense. However, the redskins have been far from cheap since Snyder purchased the team. They routinely overpaid for free agents like Adam Archuleta and Albert Haynesworth only to see them washout. The finally have a homegrown leader who can elevate a team to the playoffs and they refuse to pay him. Sure Cousins isn't a world beater but lets take a look at some of the qbs who have received long term deals. Andy Dalton (0 playoff wins), Ryan Tannehill (0 playoff appearances), Colin Kaepernick (out of the league), the list goes on. A quarterback is hard to come by so if you have one that is above average you take out the check book and pay the man. Instead the Skins have decided to alienate their quarterback so much so, that I am guaranteeing an exodus to San Fransisco after the season.

P.S. His former offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan is the head coach for the 49ers.

Free agency roundup part 2

Teddy Bridgewater: The Panthers decided to turn the page on Cam Newton after another injury- plagued season. The bizarrely haired, hieroglyphic writing QB was due for a change of scenery. Bridgewater, on the other hand, flashed serious skill while Drew Brees was on the shelf. He is still only 27 and could be a very good quarterback for Matt Rhule and co. He is a young qb on a reasonable deal, should be a win-win for both sides. Ryan Tannehill: I know I said I would focus on guys who changed teams, however I would be remiss if I did not address Tanny. The talented quarterback peeked at the right time down the stretch. He tore up the league in the second half of the season throwing 22 tds and 6 picks. In fact he and Derrick Henry almost got the Titans to a superbowl. Tannehill is good but hes not 4 years and 118 million dollars good. I think the Titans will live to regret this decision. Its like Chirstmas

In these times of uncertainty it is rare that we receive any good news. Things appear to be getting more and more grim by the day. The coronavirius is like a freight train forcing quarantines and cancelling sports left and right. No one knows what tomorrow holds and it is a little unsettling. So when one is presented with good news it can be a great change of pace. If you are a Cardinals fan, like myself and three other people outside of Phoenix then yesterday was a glorious day. Deandre Hopkins is a Cardinal, I repeat, possibly the best receiver in the the league is a Cardinal! I know what you are thinking, we probably gave up too much.
