Adrian Peterson has a new home

Image
Finally the great AP has a place to call home. Though you have to think this was all about the money because the fit is suspect. Lets look at APs weaknesses: needs to be the bellcow, cant really run out of the shot gun, needs 20-25 carries a game to be effective, doesnt pass block well and has hands of stone. Basically the offence needs to be about AP. Unfortunately New Orleans kind of has this thing where they use a million running backs. They say playing any Saints player (other then Brees) in fantasy is a fools errand. They have a new star every single week. Not to mention they are a vertical offence that runs every play out of the shotgun and expects their backs to pass block and catch the damn ball. If that wasn't enough for you, Mark Ingram has an eerily similar style to AP. The difference is he has already adjusted to the Drew Brees show. Now, Sean Payton is an offensive genius so he can make this work. He will undoubtedly have a few packages for AP and I wouldn't be ...

Rumour mill

This offseason, as with any offseason is filled with intriguing rumours. How much of these are manufactured by a bored media is anyones guess. Below are some of the more interesting story lines of the offseason. Most of these have been stuck in neutral with weeks of reports that these were done deals, only to find a retraction article the next day. Richard Sherman trade talks: Everyone who actually reads this blog knows how I feel about Richard Sherman. In case your new, hes a punk bitch that only talks when hes winning. Anyways, this was an interesting storyline because the Seahawks GM confirmed it. Which is a weird move. This put a bunch of pressure on the organization to actually ship out this nut case. Now it looks like hes gonna stay put. So keep an eye out for a butthurt Sherman providing us with passive aggressive remarks throughout the season. Hopefully this distraction will eat away at a Hawks locker room that loves them some Richard. Bunch of outspoken punks if you ask m...

Dysfunction in Brownsvill

Image
vs.  Surprising stuff right here. It appears the Cleveland Browns have some issues, who would've thunk? As you know the Brownies hold the 1st and 12th overall picks in the draft. For most of us possessing functional brains, the number one player in this class is Myles Garrett. This freaky defensive end who routinely beats double teams, looks like goddamn Hercules and runs faster then a tight end. It seems that Cleveland might screw up this slam dunk of a pick. Coach Hue Jackson (who I actually think is a good coach) wants yet another quarterback with the number one overall pick. Reports claim it is none other then Mitch Trubisky, who prefers to be called Mitchell but he doesnt get to have everything in life. The big problem here is: A. Garrett is an immediate impact player and B. Trubisky is a talented, inexperienced qb with some question marks. A team devoid of talent should be in "best player available" mode but this is no ...

Romo calling it quits

Image
The last few weeks of the Tony Romo saga epitomize his interesting career. A drama-filled journey in which Jerry Jones essentially held him for ransom. Instead of releasing Romo as promised, Jones kept him, waiting to get something in return for his favourite player. The other teams in the league called his bluff and figured they could wait Jones out. Romo handled things just as well as you would expect. Once he figured out his release was a pipe dream, he did what we all would have done: sulked. He "distanced" himself from "pro-Dak" people in the organization. This is weird considering everyone should be pro-Dak at this point. The guys has a working back, whats not to love. Finally, Romo did the unthinkable....he retired. I mean probably a good call for a man with a gimpy back and a shitty collar bone. Things are not all doom and gloom for your favourite negative meme star. He will be replacing Phil Simms on the go-to football announcing team for CBS sports. Not...
