Al-Jeezera report

News broke today that NFL players named in the Al-Jeezera report of PED use were to submit to interviews or be suspended. The players named are Mike Neal, Clay Mathews, Julius Peppers and James Harrison. Now I am torn on this issue. On the one side Al-Jeezera made some interesting claims against Peyton Manning that were so outlandish (or justified) that the site literally shut down its American office. Explain to me how a website tht cant even keep its doors open can level claims that threaten to alter the careers of some of the NFL's best. Whats not surprising is the NFL's threats against those named in said report. We all know the NFL loves witchhunts. Roger Goddell is not a big fact guy. From Bountygate to deflategate, the commissioners hardline stances on seemingly random claims with limited backing has long been his forte. Now, whats almost more curious then the NFL's decision to push the envelope is the fact that these players wont simply submit to these interviews. Not even humouring these charges is an interesting stance. The NFL will suspend if they feel it is right, it is not a question of fact. If you have nothing to hide just humour the league and maybe they will realize how ridiculous these claims truly are. Something interesting to note is the players named. You have a guy who went from a skinny ass walk-on at USC (180 pounds give or take) to an all-pro pass rusher wieghing roughly 260 in a manner of years (Clay Mathews). You have a breakout talent who, despite his veteran status has just begun to shine (Mike Neal). A couple of ancient pass rushers who dont seem like they are declining anytime soon in Harrison and Peppers. It should also be noted that Peppers, Neal and Mathews are all a part of the Packers. Look Im inclined to believe that this report is bullshit but when you consider the guys being named it does make you wonder. These fuckin guys should probably interview with the league or they are going to be suspended. This is your reputation and careers on the line, maybe check the pride at the door. All hail Fuhrer Goddell, its his way or the highway.
