Bortles just isnt good....sorry

Image
I want to like Blake Bortles, I really do. At first glance the guy is a carbon copy of big ben. 6'5, big arm, superior athleticism and the ability to pick up yards on the ground. Upon further examination you have a guy that is not a starting caliber player. His throwing motion and mechanics are trash and his accuracy really suffers as a result. He is prone to interceptions and experiences multiple lapses in judgement when it comes to reading coverages. This may seem like a surprise to some who remember his 2015 season but numbers don't tell the whole story. Jacksonville was down almost every game that season, by multiple scores. This allowed Bortles to pad his stats and take advantage of the physically imposing Allen brothers on the outside. With that in mind, the man was never very good. The signs were always there with this guy. He came from a small university where he, surprise, struggled with intermediate and deep accuracy. His athleticism and appearance tricked teams i...

Rams get Sammy

Image
Wow what to say about this trade. First off, a very surprising move on a few fronts. The Rams usually shy away from aggressively pursuing talented wide receivers. In the past they have been more interested in drafting receivers in the second and third round and hoping they develop. However, Sean Mccvay is looking to modernize this prehistoric offence and acquiring Watkins will do just that. They gave up EJ Gaines (essentially their slot corner) and a second round pick, which is no small package. Watkins is a big risk-reward receiver. He has top 10 talent but the bone density of Mr. Glass from Unbreakable. When healthy he is a bonafide number one receiver capable of beating you in a variety of ways, especially after the catch. Overall, this a gamble but one that the Rams needed to make to ensure Jared Goff continues to develop.

Cuttys back!

Image
My guy Jay Cutler is back. All you idiots that hate him because he doesn't smile or yell at people can fuck right off. In all seriousness this was the perfect move for the phins. If Tannehill comes back they have the best backup in the league. If he starts then the miami has a proven starter who has excelled under Adam Gase. Smoking Jay Cutler has a solid running game and an underatted recieving core, this could be exactly what he needs to reinvigorate his career. Did anyone actually think Cutty wanted to walk away from football? No he just wanted a chance to start. A chance he should have got with the Jets. I cant think of a guy who gets more hate for no reason then Jay. Guy can sling it and the haters are about to find out.

Tannehill mess

Image
What in the actual fuck is going with this Tannehill story. For those of you living under rock, Ryan Tannehill hurt his knee yesterday. This unfortunately, was the same knee he injured last year just in time for the playoffs. Since this news broke, reporters seem to be pushing two separate stories at once. The world according to Adam Schefter has claimed that Tannehill needs season ending surgery. However, nfl.com claims that there is no structural damage and that he just needs to rest it for 6-8 weeks. I have never seen such a variation on a story like this. It is usually just oh he has a torn ACL, its over. When you have two reputable sources with conflicting reports, who are you supposed to believe? Meanwhile, rumours are swarming that one Jay Cutler would be willing to come back and play for his old coach, Adam Gase. If things are really as bad as schefty claims then this would be an awesome replacement. Gase knows how to get through to cutler, he minimizes risky throws and puts...

Jamal Adams and CTE

Image
Good on ya Jamal Adams. In one moment you silenced the annoying "is football dying debate?". The Jets safety was asked during a press conference about the new CTE study. He replied by saying what the majority of football players are thinking. He basically said he loves the game and that there is no place he rather die then on the field. This is something that the mainstream media seems to forget. Athletes love their sports to death and if they get paid millions of dollars they will eat any risks in order to live their dreams. Breaking news, life is dangerous. Sure some pursuits are more dangerous then others but freewill allows us to choose what we want to do with our lives. I know its hard to understand mental midgets but football players now know the dangers and guess what, they are still here.
