This shit is ridiculous. Deandre Hopkins had a brief holdout in search of a new contract. Despite not receiving a deal or even a negotiation, Hopkins reported to camp. Dudes a bonafide number one receiver who has excelled despite all of the putrid qbs that have come through Houston recently. Not only is he a star but his short holdout just proves that he is a team guy first. Guy is the total package but Houston doesnt seem to understand that. They maintain that re-negotiations can only occur when the player is in the last year of his contract. In theory this is a great philosophy that helps mitigate distractions off-the-field. However, the team recently broke this rule with J.J. Watt. Look I know that Watt is a once in a generation type player but once you make exceptions, people take notice. If the Texans were smart they would break this rule for their offensive cornerstone. Hopkins means nearly as much to the offence as Watt does to the defence. Receivers that excel regardless of the...
