This shit is ridiculous. Deandre Hopkins had a brief holdout in search of a new contract. Despite not receiving a deal or even a negotiation, Hopkins reported to camp. Dudes a bonafide number one receiver who has excelled despite all of the putrid qbs that have come through Houston recently. Not only is he a star but his short holdout just proves that he is a team guy first. Guy is the total package but Houston doesnt seem to understand that. They maintain that re-negotiations can only occur when the player is in the last year of his contract. In theory this is a great philosophy that helps mitigate distractions off-the-field. However, the team recently broke this rule with J.J. Watt. Look I know that Watt is a once in a generation type player but once you make exceptions, people take notice. Von Miller man, what can you say. He played his negotiation perfectly and milked denver for everything he could get. The guy is totally worth the money (6 years 114 million and 70 million guarenteed) in the sense that if Denver didnt do it then someone else would have. The money in the NFL is exploding right now but 70 million guarenteed is fuckin insanity. another no brainer here. Surprised this guy wasn't suspended for the rest of his life. Its a curious predicament if you think about it. There have been a number of guys suspended for so much less and for a much longer period of time. The amount of negative headlines this guy has had is astounding. In maybe the least surprising move of the offseason Rolondo Mclain was suspended again. If there was ever a sure fire gambling opportunity it would be McLain's fuckery.
