Taylor Decker

The Lions needed a bookend tackle in the worst way possible. The combination of Decker and Reif should help stafford stay upright and hopefully open some running lanes for their shitty ground attack. Detriot is in an interesting spot right now. They have spent a high pick on an offensive lineman in three of the last five drafts. If protection and run blocking doesnt improve, this team could be in serious trouble.

Corey Coleman

Perfect pickup for an offence lacking explosion. This guy is a dynamic Tavon Austin clone, that is very raw but talented. Look for Jackson to manufacture touches for this kid while he learns the route tree. Coleman should be an instant impact player on special teams and gadget plays. If he can develop the rest of his game, watch out.

Karl Joesph

This kid can ball. Safety has been a truly shitty position in terms of guys going in the high first round. Didnt know much about this guy coming out but everything I heard is that he is the complete package. Comparisons range from Bob Sanders to Earl Thomas. This is the perfect pick for a Raiders secondary that was a huge team weakness last year. Combine this pickup with the Sean Smith signing and this team is back on track.

Laremy Tunsil

Mark it down, steal of the draft and its not close. Captain gas mask should be an excellent coup for a putrid phins oline that desperately needs to protect Tannehill. That video was the best thing to ever happen the the dolphins. This guy was easily the best prospect in the draft. The dolphins need to send this guys stepdad a fruit basket or some shit. Screwing over his stepson just made Ryan Tannehill one happy muthafucker.

Rankins to the Saints

This is what you have to do. Whether its offence or defence, if you a rebuilding a unit you need the big boys. Rankins is a premier talent with great athleticism to make up for a lack of size. The combination of Rankins and the massive John Jenkins should give the saints excellent push. These guys complement each other well. Jenkins takes up the space and stuffs backs while Rankins collapses the pocket in sub packages. Dont look now but the Saints have a young, talented front seven. It might take a while but they are well on their way to rebuilding this putrid defence.

Vernon Haergraves

Steal for the Bucs. All I heard was that Haergraves is by far the second best defensive back in the draft. Apparently no one told the giants. I guess getting a guy named Eli Apple was too good to pass up for a new york franchise that has a qb of a similar name. In all seriousness this is great pick here and the bucs all of the sudden have some talent at corner. Grimes, Verner and Haergraves should help them compete with some of the matchup nightmares within that division.

Lamar Houston speaks

Houston decided to mouth off to Rodgers today and I dont mind it. The usual response is Rodgers is god and Houston dare not speak his name. However, when you face a guy twice a year and your specific job is to take someone to the ground I should hope you hate him. Of course the comment was taken out of context but I like a little mean in my pass rushers. Your job is hitting guys, you like to think that your defensive guys are mean and a little bit crazy. I love this by Houston. P.S. This was a classic taken out of context quote. Houston went on to say that he respects Rodgers and thinks hes a great player but a little cocky. If we cant get on board with trash talk amongst rivals, then our society is as neutered as I feared.

Leonard Floyd

Dont know a ton about this kid but I do know that the Bears did not need to trade up for this guy. Didnt hear much top ten buzz surrounding him at all. But when the best linebackers in the draft are injured, it is bound to catapult a guy like Floyd up the draft board. You have to think that Vic Fangio knows a great pass rusher when he sees him. Floyd is a classic situational pass rusher who is too skinny. I grade this C+, you want a guy who is a bonafide starter when you are picking in the top 10.

Conklin pick

My bad on this one. The titans picked COnklin, goddamn it. Oh well mistakes happen when jerseys are similar. My point still remains that a team is all in on tackles. The team just happens to be the Titans. Do they just want to really protect Mariota or are they not happy with Taylor Lewan. I think its a bit of both. WHen you have scrambling qb, you have to make sure that he is protected or else you may have another RG3 situation on your hands. Hopefully two tackles in the top ten will do that for Tennesse.

Eli Apple

Pick literally makes no sense. First off, the Giants dont really have a need at corner and secondly why do you not pick Vernon Haergraves. I have no doubt that Apple can ball but his immediate fit seems murky with DRC and Jenkins entrenched. The Giants have holes all over the map and this pick makes no sense. This seemed like a luxury pick for a team that is not in position to make one. Grade: C+

Deforest Buckner

Lets start with the name. I dont think it gets more ridiculous then that. In all seriousness, solid pickup for the 9ers. This kid is a monster on the line. Pair him up with Armstead and that nose tackle they have and you have a hell of a front 3.  The niners seem to understand that their front seven was one of the reasons why they were so dominant a few years back. Though I do have to point out that Chip Kelly picked another Oregon player, coincidence....I think not. Grade: B

Stanley pick

This is so Ravens it hurts. A big, tough, versatile lineman with a mean streak and no character concerns. This guy is a test-tube creation by Newsome and Harbaugh. He also fits an immediate need as Monroe is not the player he once was and right tackle is essentially just a big hole. Stanley was not as heralded as Tunsil but many teams actually preferred Stanley over Laremy especially after the whole gas mask fiasco. This pick is an A, need and value coincide.

Ramsey pick

This might have been the best value in the draft. Ramsey was heralded as a potential first overall candidate prior to the Rams and Philly deals. For the Jags to grab him at 5 is a match made in heaven. The Jags desperately need a big name in their secondary to complement Jon Cyprien and it appears they have secured it. To make matters even more perfect, Ramsey is Gus Bradely's wet dream. A big, long physical corner who can play every position in the secondary. Just remember that Bradley was the defensive coordinator when the Hawks brought in Sherman and Browner. It appears Bradley finally got his guy. If Ramsey has the impact I expect the Jags will be in the wild card race come december.

Zeke pick

Dallas is catching a little bit of heat for this one. Most people thought the defence needed to be addressed as Sean Lee's health is always a concern and their pass rushers love drugs. To make matters a little more interesting, The boys already have a capable pair in Alfred Morris and Mcfadden. I would counter that the good teams pick the best player available. Sure many thought that guy was Jalen Ramesy but elliott is a certified star. Many scouts said he was on the level of Todd Gurley when he was coming out of Georgia. Pairing Zeke with a healthy Romo and Dez should give the Cowboys the consistency on offence they need to compete in an interesting NFC East. Grade: B+
